Behind the Screen: Movies: Generic Thread

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Its the spin-off The Marked Ones... comes out January 3rd. And then the 5th PA in October... but apparently the spin-off looks good from early screenings of the trailer. The PA franchise is totally a cash grab, but hey, it seems to be the only movies nowadays that gives me a good jump... I haven't come across anything as jumpy since The Descent. :P

Carrie, surprisingly, lived way above my expectations. Everyone says Chloe Grace Moretz is "too pretty" to portray Carrie White but she did an amazing job. Although it was waaaaayy more gory than the 1976 version, it was pretty much beat-for-beat to the original plot. PLUS THE MOVIE STOPPED MIDWAY THROUGH SO WE GOT FREE MOVIE TICKETS SO I'M GOING TO SEE IT AGAIN. It's great and if you're a fan of Stephen King and the original "Carrie", or the novel, it's def a must see.

Way more gory? AKA no plot. The original worked way better and that Chloe trick annoys me in those previews. And Julliane More is a horrible Mrs. White. Sorry, not sorry. Sue Snell was the only one I liked. It was funny how they killed her in The Rage when they shouldn't have.

Once again, we saw two totally different films...although I don't honestly think you saw it. The gore doesn't come until the end. I've read the novel 5+ times and seen the original 123430000000. I loved it. Obviously, not as good as the original, not expecting it to be. But it did the original justice by not overdoing anything with the special effects and dialog. it brought Carrie into 2013, I don't know what else you were expecting. Calling a 15 year old girl a "trick". How classy of you.

Gravity sucked!! No story at all dragged on for an hour and a half.

Wth do you mean I didn't see it? I have nothing to prove to you once again Navy. Have you not seen the original? To sit there and say this crap was good when it's not is mind boggling.

Gravity was awesome, I don't know what you're on about, :eyewink: lol Could it have been better? Yes but its not that bad.

I thought it was just too predictable and boring. I'm all for slow-burning movies, hell one of my favorite horror movies (House of the Devil) is slow burning movie with a horrible pay-off
Spoilerjust like this movie. But at least for that movie the suspense was there. In Gravity, after Clooney dies off, it just becomes a snoozefest. There wasn't any suspense and overall the whole script was lousy.

okay, so I saw Carrie... and I have to say... it wasn't that bad haha. It definitely wasn't the original by a long shot, but Chloe and Julianne did wonderful jobs with their characters... the other teenage characters however performed horribly... most notably the "bad" girl, Chris. It felt like there wasn't much plot... like the first hour was just filler until prom night, which was a bit disappointing, but I must say... prom night was amazing. Lots of carnage, some creative kills (the bleachers? nasty), and an awesome ending with Carrie and her mom. It definitley could have been better, but it also could have been A LOT worse... thankfully it wasn't that bad. :P As for Gravity... I thought the first half was boring...
Spoilerup till Clooney dies... the rest was amazing imo... the destruction of the ISS.. the chinese station catching fire, and amazing effects when all the debris is entering earths atmosphere with Sandra in the pod... so intense! Even the guy on the radio with the dog and baby brought me to tears... definitely thought it would be over for her at that point
needless to say, I liked the second half much more!

‘Power Rangers’ Live-Action Movie Reboot in the Works Never, in the history of everdom, have I ever been this excited about a film. My inner child is going absolutely ape**** over this. I hope they do it right, a little dark and gritty with just enough campiness and nostalgia. I won't lie, I'm quite disappointed I won't be the one in the director's chair.

Megaforce is on now and is in the 8th episode of the 21st season. Hell, rangers returning included Tommy, Leo, Damon, Kendrix, Karone, Dana, Carter, Wes, TJ, Cassie. For those that don't know the series is filming in New Zealand.

I saw it. I thought it was decent, but my expectations were super high. I loved X-Men First Class, but was disappointed with this one.

I hated the fact that they killed almost half the cast from First class this should of been a sequel to the wolverine and Xmen the last stand not first class.

I saw it! I didn't really like Shailene Woodley going into the film, but I thought she did a phenomenal job. I loved her more in the Fault in Our Stars! She's one of my new favorites. The movie did the book justice in my eyes.

I think I had way too high expectations cause everyone was calling it the new Hunger Games. I still liked it though! Yeah I saw Shailene Woodley in the Descendants and I didn't feel like she was a great actress. But she really did a great job! I found it funny that the guys who plays her brother in Divergent plays her lover in The Fault in Our Stars. I need to read the books though! They're currently shooting Insurgent here.

Ugh, I hated TFIOS. It was just boring and I am so glad the theater though they normally don't refund A LOT of people there money back. And can they stop with the book to film. Especially if they cast these boring *** individuals as well.

LMAO. First class was abysmal though. This one was kinda "confusing" but the OGS there were in it. lol. I hated Part 3 though.

For the Disney, Marvel Comics, and Jamie Chung fans, she's voicing a character in Big Hero 6: ‘Big Hero 6′ Official Voice Cast & Character Images Revealed 5977
Go Go Tomago (Voiced by Jamie Chung): Aptly named Go Go Tomago knows what it takes to be fast. She’s tough, athletic and loyal to the bone, but not much of a conversationalist. Popping bubble gum and delivering well-placed sarcasm are totally her speed. The daredevil adrenaline junkie is at her best on wheels, and when Go Go joins forces with Big Hero 6, she rolls like never before, using maglev discs as wheels, shields and throwing weapons.
