Behind the Screen: Movies: Generic Thread

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Wow it really looks like a great film. When does it come out? And did anyone notice Ginny from Harry Potter on it?

I recommend, Die Hard 5, Looper, Premium Rush, Mama for starters.
Looper and Premium Rush are both solid choices. However, I haven't seen the other two and don't think I will. I don't do new age Horror and I don't do Die Hard.

To no ones surprise, Spring Breakers was horrible.

Really? I heard it was great... they just didn't properly advertise it... girls gone wild but with street wars, guns, and drugs. It's like two completely opposite things met and had this completely f'd up awesome baby lol It's also got pretty rave reviews... I won't see it in theatres, but i'll def. rent a copy when it comes out!

It was bad. I was actually 100000% excited about it (see a couple pages back, I posted the movie trailer here). The thing that throws me off is that randomly throughout the movie the characters do random repetitive monologues. Selena Gomez does this about 5 times.

Bella you're tripping all those movies are good.

At first I was wicked excited but after that trailer..I'm indifferent On another note, Evil Dead was AMAZING.

WTH? That was awful. They are really trying to ruin my childhood. First Chucky 5 and 6 in the same year not this? SMH@Hollywood.

I thought they actually did a good job with the remake of Carrie!!... you can tell they put a lot of work into making it the perfect mix of the movie and book. Chloe doesn't have the innocence I was expecting for Carrie, but I think she still pulls it off once she realizes her powers. As for Evil Dead... just got back from it and all I can say is WOW. That was one f'd up gory insanefest... Surprisingly I thought I'd be a little more scared after the nonstop advertising, but I was still extremely satisfied with how over the top and OMG-worthy the movie was! So much blood.. And the last 10 minutes? So amazing! I was actually freaking out at the shed/machete scene.

The sequel was awful so I have low expectations... http://youtu.be/KLAkxSjs8ZY

The full trailer actually gives the movie a plot... I actually think it looks quite funny compared to the ******* second one haha ... I died when Alan says "Can you take Stu instead!?" haha... it's always Doug that gets to miss out on all the fun isn't it? :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUUvJ3jGC4Y&feature=share

Just saw 42 yesterday and it was a great movie, but the ending happens at a weird time

The Hangover 3? How lame. I enjoyed the first one but hated the second one now this? SMH.

Gatsby was truly Great! I don't get the mixed reviews for it... as much as it was a spectacle to watch in 3D on the big screen, the movie still had a big heart and really makes you feel for the characters by the ending climax. But seriously, the visuals are some of the best i've seen in recent memory... Baz sure knows how to make a grandeur movie... the sets, the parties, and the acting were all top notch. I think it may have been a little too long.. some scenes definitely dragged, but it doesn't hurt the movie to much If you are going to see it, see it in 3D... just WOW. Also the music surprisingly fit well into the movie... although most of the soundtrack songs are slightly altered to sound a bit more 20s-ish. Lana's "Young and Beautiful" is basically the theme song for the movie and it was beautifully placed in every scene it was in. Loved it!!

I so want to see The Great Gatsby myself as well. I read the book in English class back in HS and fell somewhat in love with it. The whole flapper thing is kinda weird though but that's minor stuff. Whenever a movie, that is good, mind you, and is in 3D I almost always make it a priority to watch it in such. Yeah some don't need it but whatever helps make the most money though, you know. I'm still waiting on a new Brave New World movie.

Great Gatsby was good, but it was way too much. A lot of parts seemed cheesy. The music selection was good, but I could have done without "HOVA" and the "Crazy In Love" Cover

LMAO. Did they do those two songs justice though?

That soundtrack is hideous. Lana Del Rey and Florence are the only redeeming factors.

different strokes for different folks... there seems to be a great divide over the soundtrack. I really like how a fox news review put it: "The use of music is almost reason enough to see this “Gatsby.” The Jay-Z produced soundtrack is a clash between contemporary hip hop and 1920’s jazz. Hearing Jay-Z, Florence and the Machine and Beyoncé weave in and out of classic Gershwin tunes is inspired and exemplifies the warped realities and chaos of these characters. Circumventing the musical chaos and battle of the bands is Craig Armstrong's score, which provides an otherwise unseen layer of melancholy throughout the film." Some songs were definitely a little iffy, but the creativeness behind the whole album and how it was put together was phenomenal... my fav's are definitely, Lana's "Young and Beautiful", Florence's "Over the Love", Jack White's "Love is Blindness", Coco O.'s "Where the Wind Blows", and Will.i.am's "Bang Bang"

Whoa! Fast 6 was the most epic of the franchise. Very action packed and it had me on the edge til the very end. The preview for Fast 7 had me speechless!!

LMAO. Lana is a "whack-a-dootle chick" lol.

Monster's University was fantastic needless to say... Pixar has done it again. Couldn't stop laughing from beginning to end! And very appropriate timing to release this movie now that fans of the original are pretty much all in University/College haha

I was thinking the same thing mItch. I was reluctant at first but wtf why are they in water as the end? This is gonna be a good movie better than the second Twilight(New Moon was crap for a follow-up I mean). And is it just me or am I the only one who sung when he said Katniss is a girl on fire? LMAO. I already know this is going to be the last good one because Mockingjay was garbage not to mention it is going to be two films through 2015.
