Behind the Screen: The Hunger Games

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I'm still mad people are saying that Catching Fire wasn't/isn't as good as THG. Or is it just me who likes Catching Fire just as much as the original?

Definitely my favorite of the three as well. Mockingjay was my least favorite.

My favorite go in order, but the first two are almost equal to me.

Same for me. There are various scenes I look forward to watching from Catching Fire. A lot of the chapters ended with twists and shockers.

I think so. Speaking of attractive, I always thought that the casting of Gale and Petta should have been reversed.
DItto. Gale would've been perfect as Peeta

Wait I'm curious, who was Teddy (the guy from 90210) supposed to be on Catching Fire? He was really buff and hunky, could've definitely played Finnick.
Nostalgic#255
I didn't even know Teddy Montgomery was cast so I can't help you. Maybe he lost the role?

Trevor Donovan was called in to audition for Finnick, but lost out to Sam.

No. and No. Sam Claffin is a disgrace to Finnick. I was terrified when he was cast. Now that I've seen this photo, I'm positive it's going to be terrible. He doesn't meet any of the physical requirements to play Finnick. Seriously. Is there a single one?

Are they specified in the book? I haven't read it since high school.

I have no idea what the characters are supposed to look like but I think they were cast the way they were because Josh Hutcherson is a far better actor than the Hemsworth brother that played Gale

You never know Bella. He might be working up a storm shirtless. :P

I for one think Sam was a great choice! I originally had it Eddie Redmayne, but I was happy with their pick having just seen him in POTC:On Stranger Tides and Snow White... he has the acting chops and the charming good looks... he's also got a bit of a swimmers build which def. works for the role haha Bella, harsh much? You haven't even seen how he acts as finnick... you saw a few photos. You know the old sayings, don't judge a book...

I'm excited, but I was hoping for footage from the actual. QQ

I think they are trying to keep that a secret until they release a full trailer... but from the teaser, it looks AMAZING!! I love Snow's line right at the end about the victors.

I am hearing from a lot of people that they are not really expecting anything out of Catching Fire. I also heard that nothing really happened in the book. Its been a while since I read it so I don't know if I can attest to that.

I know right? I hate when people do that.

i thought it was the most exciting book of the series... a mix between the first book and third... And the ending is so climatic!! I think people may find the first half of the movie a little slower with the victory tour and living in victors village during the winter... but I found it really interesting and quite a bit happened that affects the rest of the series. The arena is so cool too!! That will be really fun to watch! Plus the stakes are so much higher than the first. I hope it's really good!! I'm super pumped :)

I guess I have to "Take your word for it" Mitch. I really liked the first book and first movie so hopefully this is exciting on film.

The reviews have been very solid so far. There is a new TV spot for it that shows the arena and it looks awesome! I'm gonna marry Jennifer Lawrence one day :redface-new:
