Behind the Screen: The Hunger Games

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Interesting. What are your guesses for some of the others? Who the hell will play Mags? Betty White? Betty White kicks ***. Also, quick talk about the first movie, CLOVE IS THE SAME ACTRESS WHO PLAYED ESTHER IN ORPHAN OMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For some reason, I'm really excited to find out who will play Gloss and Cashmere. I would love for them to cast actors who actually look alike.

As for Finnick, I looked up all three of those actors, and Chris Zylka looks what I pictured him to look like...though I have zero idea if he has any talent or not.
I looked UP Taylor Kitsh, and that is how I imagined Finnick to look like, although Chris Zylka also has the look. Bummer about his height.

No, I am not high. I would take any of the Hemsworth brothers over Josh Hutcherson any day of the week. :D
Co-sign. Josh Hutcherson is cute, but I wouldn't exactly put him in the category of sexy/hot. I do like him though.... lol.

I Would LOVE LOVE LOVE for Betty White to Play Mags...that would be awesome! AS for Beetee...I am still undecided... I was thinking Robin Williams would be cool...I mean we don't really know his age, just that he is described as an older man with dark hair, pale skin and glasses....

or two real-life siblings. Note that a lot of the tributes in the first one were actors not many have heard of, so I'd assume they'd do the same in the second

Michael Emerson for Beetee!!! Ever since reading the books, that's who I want to play him.

He's best known for his portrayal of Ben Linus on LOST. User image

THAT is the guy I had in my mind when reading but I had no clue who he was (I never watched lost but I have seen him in previews and stuff) I guess he just stuck in my head because that is almost exactly how I imagined him.

Honestly, I would hate it if Betty White or Robin Williams were cast in Catching Fire. The thing I liked Hunger Games was that the majority of the cast were people pretty much unknown actors
fabulous788#163
Yeah, I don't think I would want any well known actors either. That's definitely one of the movie's pluses.
some guy#164
although I agree with the whole unknown actors thing, I can picture Paul Walker playing Finnick. That's all based on looks though.

Paul Walker is 38 years old. He can't pull off a 24 year old.

Stacee_Danielle agrees with me about the Betty White thing...and I love it when mods agree with me. It makes me feel smart... But no one agrees with me that Josh Hutcherson is better looking than Chris Zylka. Well, this girl I was just talking to about it did, but she isn't on this site.

Is she under the age of 18?

Indeed.

When I read the books I always had Grant Gustin pictured in my head as Finnick. Im not sure if he could really pull it off though. To be honest it matters more to me that they get a great actor rather than someone who looks like the Finnick I pictured.

Then there is your answer. Josh Hutcherson is for girls and boys. Chris Zylka is for women and men.

Not everyone in the cast are nobodies...those are some big names...i think they were referring to Rue, Cato, Glimmer, etc., along with many unnamed other of the tributes were. None of those ppl u mentioned played tributes. I had heard of the actress who played Clove though but didnt realize she played Esther until after I saw it for the first time

I was very familiar with Levin Rambin who played Glimmer, but I do know that not everyone was (she was amazing as an autistic girl on All My Children). I just don't think that all tributes need to be "nobody's" I mean where are you going to find an 85 year old nobody to play such a role...I know it isn't impossible, but I feel like Betty White would be great as Mags...I am sure if I looked into more older actresses I could find other options...but I love Betty! LOL

I just said they weren't as well known. I didn't call them nobodies. Not many people can name a handful of movies the more well known people have been in, except for maybe Woody Harrelson.

i hesitated to use the word nobodies, i only did it in reply to stacee_danielle, who did use that word.
Stacee_Danielle#179
I wasn't necessarily quoting anyone here on the nobodies thing...I have just heard it a few times in regards to the casting of the movie so it stuck in my head...sorry if it seemed that way. :)

I don't think that's officially been announced yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't her. She reminds me too much of Kristen Stewart.
It has last I checked. And How? KStew makes me want to vomit.
