To be fair they all watched 46 right before they left and kept mentioning everyone going home with an idol in their pocket. I don't blame him for playing it in the era of blindsides.

Also, there was a chance it was going to rocks and since he played his idol he wouldn't have had to have drawn rocks. So it was very smart on many levels.

There was little to no chance they'd go to rocks come on now. They can tease it but even if she voted for sue the first time, she's flipping second time.

If he was actually afraid of going to rocks it makes sense to play it. But with a 3 tribal idol I'd have hoped my team only losses once or twice pre merge and used it at the merge tribal which can be a mess
