Depends on who you talk to. San Diego has a huge Naval base, one of the best zoos in the world, some amazing beaches, and is great for people in their 20s. Having spent a few years there myself, I can definitely say that it is a "dream" location in terms of weather and things to do (or if you're in the Navy or into zoology or surfing). My friends who live there now have absolutely no plans of leaving any time soon. I think a lot of people overlook San Diego. I would rather live there than in Los Angeles (where I also spent a couple of years).

I'm going to try and stay away from seeing the cast before the season airs, I miss the mystery.

You def have very good points. And I couldn't agree more that I'd MUCH rather live in San Diego than LA. Although, I'd rather live most places than LA.

I loved the first season in San Diego, so I am really glad that they're going back. It's gotten to the point that I don't care much about location, and San Diego ranks a lot higher on my list than other cities in the US. I'm really looking forward to this season now! The past 2 have been pretty good, and hopefully this trend continues.

I understand wanting to go to locations that people dream of living, but I do wish they'd go to new places. I guess people don't want to live in the midwest, so that's probably why there won't be a season out here for a long time.

A lot of BMP cast members seem to hail from the midwest. I wonder if the reason they recycle cities is because those are the places where there are a lot of available local resources for production. That way they can keep their regular expenses down by bringing in independent contractors--the TV version of farm laborers--without having to pay for travel and hotel and meals for a big staff.

As far as I know, BMP has always hired local crews to do the camera work.

I wasn't really sure if I was happy about San Diego before but now I'm pretty stoked. I can picture the cast *****ing about each other on the beach and what not. I think BMP choses places that are "marketable". Viewers would rather see 7 young adults live it up in Vegas, NOLA, San Diego, NY etc (hence fantasy appeal, I can't live there so I wanna see those nutjobs fight each other there) . I can't see someone saying, "I gotta get home, Real World: Nashville is on tonight!"

Hmmm, I had it an inkling they were going to return to Cali for season 26 but I had hoped it would be San Francisco.

I liked this year's cast, but I hope we can get a cast like Brooklyn. I don't really know San Diego, but it doesn't scream "party" or "sin" to me, so hopefully we'll get a somewhat serious cast.

I'm very very very happy about Back to San Diego idea. I just love this city and can't wait for this. Great decision for BMP.

Yeah, it definitely seems like they are going to their more popular cities, in terms of ratings. I actually have no problem with it anymore. I think they hit the right notes with the last two "Back to-" seasons, and the first SD season is a favorite of mine, so I have hope for this. I said it in the other thread, but I may as well reiterate that I think it will be difficult to find a cast as likeable as the first San Diego cast, but hopefully they can at least come close. I know this is like the cardinal sin for "old school" RW fans such as myself, but I actually don't want a "serious" cast for this. I want a fun cast. Not that they can't be both serious and fun, of course, but I look back to how fun and likeable/charming the original cast was, and I just want to see something similar. I love when I can watch the show and actually be jealous because of how much fun the cast seems like they're having. That's how the original SD season was for me. Also, San Diego is easily at the top of my list of US cities I want to go to. Hell, even the world. Several of my friends have been there and said it was an absolute blast.

ANOTHER back to season? Damn. Oh well at least it'll be in a sunny area.

The first San Diego was cool, so this doesn't sound like a bad idea. I was hoping that this season would be a new city since we haven't had one of those since DC. hopefully the next one will be a new city or a foreign city.

Does anyone know why they decided to go back to 7 roommates?

There's an article about it somewhere, but I can't remember where and I can't remember what the reasoning was...I think something about 8 was too many, 7 was easier to focus on.

San Diego had the best cast ever IMO, best season ever. If this cast is even half as good as the original then it will be a great season.

San Diego is absolutely up there for me as well, if not at the top. I think the main problem with a Back to season (for me, at least) is that I constantly find myself comparing the cast to the original. Are they going to have a fresh out of college frat boy like Brad? Are they going to have a punk rocker like Frankie? Are they going to have a wild party girl like Robin and Cameran? Are they going to have a witty, chill black guy like Jacqueese? Are they going to have a stoner surfer dude like Randy? Are they going to have someone who was raised very traditionally like Jamie? For example, the original New Orleans season was also one of my favorites, cast and season wise. In my opinion, the 2010 cast did not even hold a candle to the original cast or the season which is probably one of the reasons I didn't like it. We'll see if this cast can hold their own. If I remember correctly, the original San Diego cast was not met warmly by the city.

Brooklyn: Devyn and Baya were nearly invisible. Cancun: In my opinion was the only season where all 8 roommates played a big role in at least one of the episodes. D.C.: Josh mind as well had been wallpaper. New Orleans: Eric was pretty boring, as well as Sahar. So I can see the pattern. Brooklyn and D.C. were just general opinions of what I saw, from what I watched. I didn't really watch much of Brooklyn, and I probably watched maybe 4 episodes from D.C.

After the travesty thats the Real Housewives from that location----heck to the no. Eric was boring (He never really utitlized his comedic routine) but Sahar was not.

Man, they're really milking these Real World "Back to" seasons huh ? Well, good for them...the ratings picked up some, so I can see why they're doing it.

I would switch Sahar with Ashlee for New Orleans. I actually thought Sahar got a decent amount of screentime towards the end of the season. I remember because I thought she got really annoying and I wanted to mute her and her perpetual "i have a cold" voice. Let's just hope they don't cast a bunch of Charlie's this season. ;)
