Behind the Screen: Survivor: Blood vs Water - My Brother's Keeper

Since its debut in 2000, Survivor has defined the reality competition genre with its mix of physical endurance, social strategy, and raw human drama. Jeff Probst's iconic tribal councils remain appointment television.

With the new era of shorter seasons and evolving twists, Survivor continues to reinvent itself while maintaining the core survival elements that have kept fans engaged across 50 seasons and counting.

Vytas is smart. You know he's pissed but he's totally playing the "it's ok, I understand" card. Hopefully it works out well for him. And the eating challenges! I missed these.

We had one last season.

I wish there was an eating challenge every season. I don't think anything got worse than the time they had to eat fafaru in Marquesas.

Kudos to Monica--impressive

Who do you guys think is voted out in the first tribal? My guess is Katie because they showed a couple of scenes with her at the start even though she has been non-existent for 99% of the season.

Getting rid of anyone other than Vytas would just be stupid IMO

Agree. I think I read too much into the editing. I do think Katie goes home tonight though. Probably 2nd tribal.

And you know they've been playing up Aras vs Vytas all season, so it's only right that he goes next.

I feel like Hayden has a huge advantage here for the newbies. His social skills from Big Brother trump half of the returners anyway.

Monica needs to relax

Her paranoia is going to be the end of her game.

Agreed--she just won immunity...calm the hell down for 15 minutes

Vytas is clearly the threat here. Get him out while you can. Don't let him get comfortable or you may end up paying...
molds13#16
Oh Vytas...should have kept your mouth shut there...you may have actually had a chance.

Yep--he talked way too much there IMO

This is what I don't like about Redemption Island. The jury does not get to see the tribal councils that they should be watching in order to make a well-rounded decision. With 10 left, you have to assume that the first juror is coming soon. If there's a final 3, Aras would be in the jury. How is he supposed to make a good decision based off hearsay?

Redemption Island is stupid. I didn't mind it pre-merge this season because of the twist that your loved one could take your spot, but after the merge, you shouldn't be able to get back into the game.

I didn't like the idea of Redemption Island the first time, and I still don't like it now. I've always been of the thought that in order to win Survivor, you have to have it all - social skills, wits, and a little bit of brawn. Redemption Island takes it down to chance plus gives someone a chance to reenter when they clearly didn't do something right to stay the first time. I hate it.

Annnnnnd Monica just sealed her fate. I'll call it now based on how terrible editing has been this season.

I love Redemption Island because I like competition that has meaning. They could show show them the tape of tribals to get an accurate portrayal. All that said, I'd be all for Redemption Island just for the first half. Any season without Redemption Island is a waste to me
kvm1977#23
Monica...there's just no words

They got through 21 seasons of Survivor without RI. I think they did just fine without it.

I didn't watch the early seasons so I have a different point of view...no right or wrong

You've gotta get on it. Watch the seasons before they had a hidden immunity idol. The strategizing was even better.

Hayden's stack looks solid.

Very surprised by him...didn't think this would be a good one for him. Betting on Tyson though Tina needs to leave Katie alone

I'd probably have a different view point if I saw them...love the strategy. Not a huge fan of the idol but I like Redemption Island. Well done Katie...Monica's dead in the water IMO

If that were me I would have told my mom to shut the **** up and let me focus a long time ago.

I mean, seriously. I like Tina but, for the love of baby Jesus, she needs to shut the hell up
