Behind the Screen: The Real World: Ex-Plosion - San Francisco (2013) - The

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I think this episode ratings is going to be higher than the last 2 and Next episode is going to be higher because the exes are moving at the end of next episode, plus they airing Miley Cyrus Unplugged...

Has it really gotten to the point where we're hoping Miley Cyrus will help improve the ratings..

Ashley should lay off the drinks.

I'm actually excited to watch tonight. This season has had a more entertaning start than the last few for me.

Yes... talk up Jay's family. Make this as devastating as possible.

Worst thing on any Real World is when someone gets one of "those calls". I hate that, just terrible stuff. Felt like crap when Danny got his bad news on Austin, just haunting and terrible.
Calinks#10
Looks like Cory is about to OD on butthurt.
Youssarian#11
Why is Cory so possessive of Jenny? It's not like they're actually dating.

I know these people are playing it up for the camera, but I honestly don't see how this season is more scripted than any other.

Arielle is so annoying right now. "I don't hear sincerity in your voice". She's practically trying to keep the house like how Portland would've been without Nia. Like you are not Mother Hen...

It reminds me of Danny's dad in 2005. So played out.

So are they made to ride the bus this season because I have never seen this.

They had to ride the bus on Cancun, no?

I think they used public transportation in Portland, too.

:( Terrible. Just terrible. Previous phone call was heartbreaking. Dagger straight to the heart.

I would've had the same reaction had it not been TRW trope of the franchise know as Death Call by Phone: Lindsay in Seattle Elka's mom in her season Danny in Austin Leroy in '11 and now Jay in B2SF. And if you're reading this you have my deepest sentiments and condolescences.
JellyGut#22
Damn. I was praying his mom did not pass away. This really makes me feel terrible.

I'm definitely not doubting it, but can you give me some examples?

V1, before he left, alluded to them reshooting key scenes.

This reminds me so much of when Danny lost his mom. My prayers go out to Jay and his family, so awful.
Calinks#29
We just saw a young man lose their mother, do we really have to jump to questioning the validity of his others emotions at this time?

Ah. I guess it's better than the whole show being flat-out scripted.
