Behind the Screen: The Real World: D.C - Ratings

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I think a lot of people would rather just see a good version on TV and skip their website completely, but the internet provides them with better ad revenue I guess.

Finale Ratings Real World DC - 1.100 million viewers - 0.8/1 HH - 0.6/2 A18-49 - 1.2/4 W18-34
saltvinegar#221
Is that the worse rating for any finale ever?
blanky667#222
So... there was a decrease from Episode 13 to the FINALE. Ugh. Horrible.

Moraes on TV - "The Real World: D.C." crashes and burns "Wednesday's "The Real World: D.C." finale attracted about 1.1 million viewers -- the smallest finale audience in the show's 23-edition history. As if that's not bad enough, the three ************ episodes ever in "The Real World" history all came out of its Washington edition. Five of the six ************ "Real World" episodes ever -- also Washington."

Well, I guess this is bye bye real world?

I'm not surprised. This season wasn't very interesting, and some things were stretched out over multiple episodes when they shouldn't have even made it onto the show. I blame the editors, but I also think some of the cast were pretty boring. D.C. sounded like a good location for a season of The Real World, and it would have been if they'd filmed a season there years ago (even two years ago during the election would have been good).

If the show is going to be as dull as RW: D.C. was, then I hope it gets canceled. The only reason I want it to continue now is to recruit non-Fresh Meatheads for the challenges.

Whoops, I forgot to do one of these for this season. :D Ratings Overview for D.C Episode 1 – 1.881 Million Viewers Episode 2 – 2.020 Million Viewers Episode 3 – 1.840 Million Viewers Episode 4 – 1.792 Million Viewers Episode 5 – 1.628 Million Viewers Episode 6 – 1.596 Million Viewers Episode 7 – 1.319 Million Viewers Episode 8 – 1.178 Million Viewers Episode 9 – 1.545 Million Viewers Episode 10 – 1.551 Million Viewers Episode 11 – 1.097 Million Viewers Episode 12 – 1.036 Million Viewers Episode 13 – 1.142 Million Viewers Finale – 1.100 Million Viewers ----------------------------------------------------------- As you can see, the ratings started off decently, then crashed to the ground. It finished off with a lousy 1.48 average. Last season (Cancun) finished with a 1.78 average and with 2.049 million viewers in the finale. Cancun finished with 21.001 million cumulative viewers, not including the reunion. D.C finished with 20.725 million cumulative viewers, not including the reunion. D.C had 2 more episodes than Cancun. Overall, these ratings were horrible, and they continue with Fresh Meat 2 picking up 1.3 in it's premiere. Lets hope next season picks up.

It's funny that it started out in a good way then fell off a cliff. Which is the exact opposite of what you want from a season. Decent ratings then a pickup toward the end but sadly it didn't happen.

Also, the first few episodes aired when Jersey Shore was on, so it received promos during JS's ad breaks. So despite Mike saying he felt JS hurt their show, it probably increased awareness of it.
