I have been watching the majority of the series over the years and I still like the FM. They have annoying qualities, but so do a lot of the other cast members.

Exactly! The first challenge I watched was BOTS2 and I never watched I2 so I started to get really into these challenges after the G2. I mean, the challenges I watched were: BOTS2, G2, FM, The Duel, I3, G3, The island and the Duel 2. I guess I lost the best challenges with the best cast members and maybe that's why I like the Fresh Meat kids so much. But you have to understand, I'm only 15 xD

I wasn't singling you out. Most people are against the idea, but I have seen things written like "I hate them because they are fresh meat." And I have seen things written like "I will automatically dislike them because they are fresh meat."

It has nothing to do with the cast members other then the fact they were never on The Real World or Road Rules. This is the Real World/Road Rules Challenge. Not, The Real World/Real World Rejects Challenge. Like I said, MTV should start a new reality show with randoms - but stop diluting the Challenges that we all love with people that have no back story or relevance in this venue.

Alright but its not the cast members fault, they didn't come up with the idea.

Personally if i got a call to do fresh meat 2 then i would do it. however if i had a choice of being on the real world first then a challenge or just going right to the challenge, i rather do the rea world first. i rather have a background so people watching the show could kno stuff about me before they saw me competing. with diem i feel that her story could have been great for the real world because for the challenge it was used in a negative way like pity for her while on the real world it wouldnt be because they arent competing for money. i dont really like the idea of fresh meat 2 and if the next challenge is fresh meat 2, then at least change up the rules and stuff. it should be rw/rr against fresh meat. or even better have it where there will be like 16 rw and 16 fresh meat. 8 boys and 8 girls for each team. but instead of having it 16 alumni vs 16 fresh meat. combined the team somehow where each team will have 4 alumni girls, 4 alumni boys, 4 fresh meat girls, and 4 fresh meant boys. this would be interesting because neither team would have a majority for voting issues

Th format of Fresh Meat 1 had so much potential, but the cast ruined it. I also predict that half of the alumni cast will have been on Fresh Meat 1. But if they cast this challenge right, it will be great.

Personally, my theory of why the Fresh Meat alumni now have Challenge domination is because there are less and less old alumni coming in these days. While the FM kids can make a life out of competing in Challenges over and over, the older people don't have as much time to do frequent appearances anymore because they have real jobs and those jobs are now more priority one at that point than flying out to some foreign location, compete for a huge cash reward, all at the risk of losing their job and being unemployed. One example would be Jisela, while most see her exit as a "quit", she had to lose so she could go home and not get fired from her job since at that point, if she didn't show up to work she'd get canned. And so because the newer generation has more time on their hands to do over 5 Challenges, it's only natural to assume that they make enough connections and alliances to make it all the way through and make some dough. While Evan's "new generation taking over" comment feels like a spit in the face to most, it does seem to have some degree of sense given the reasons stated. But hey, if it's any consolation, when they start to have less and less time to do the shows, perhaps the newer generation will take over the domination reigns and the Evan/Kenny led generation will feel much like the Coral/Katie generation felt.

Agree with Bacchus. They shouldn't really call it the Real World/Road Rules Challenge if majority of the cast did not appear on real world or road rules. But maybe the new fresh meaters won't be as bad as their predecessors. I think the Cancun cast is pretty awesome so maybe BMP improved their casting process.

Wait, so the Fresh Meat casts are based solely on rejects of the RW auditions? So there is no auditioning for FM2? And if this is correct, when would they start casting for RW 24? Before, during, or after this FM2 situation? Just wondering!

czlv14, I think it will depend on how many of the rejects will agree to doing the challenge. If they can get 12 rejects, they probably won't hold auditions. If they can only get 6 to do it, for example, they would hold a casting call for 6 more. Many of the FM1 were rejects from Key West and Austin, but I'm pretty sure that Casey, Evelyn and Ryan were cast solely because they tried out for FM. I know Ryan definitely wasn't a reject but I'm only assuming Casey and Ev based on the fact that they were 18 when they filmed the show so timewise it wouldn't make sense for them to go through the process, get rejected and then be called up for this challenge in less than a year. I also know that Diem, Eric and Kenny were Austin rejects and Evan was a Key West reject. Linette was also a reject but I can't remember for which season--pretty sure it was Austin, though. I don't know when they'll start casting for RW24, but I'm pretty sure it'll be sometime in September. That would give them enough time to assemble a cast by December or mid-to-early January and start filming by February which is roughly the timeline they used for Cancun.

I know for a fact Ryan soley tried about for FM, I don't know about the two.

Thanks behindme and tj! That helps a lot, because with so much talk, I really get lost in the true logistics of the casting process! Even if you are basing it on just past events and such, it helps out a lot in getting an idea of how all this casting works! Thanks again!

yeah these challenges shouldn't even be called RW-RR challenges. Yeah they're are some RW-RR people the cast for the past few challenges have been dominately fresh meat. Like the original idea of a RW-RR challenge name shouldn't be there anymore because of all the new people on these challenges that didn't even participate in TRW or RR.

A lot of the new real worlders are awesome. A lot of recent/current Real Worlders are hilarious and bring entertainment.

Ok FM haters... Wasn't Mark Long a RW reject? I would rather have seen Kenny on Austin than boring old Danny anyday! Who wouldn't want Evelyn on Sydney in place of Trisha or Ashley?

He still did Road Rules, where as the FMers haven't done either. That is the point. Not to mention he was "rejected" by the cast themselves because they got to choose a replacement, which was unusual in itself.

But the point is, we didn't. No matter how many times we see the Fresh Meat people on Challenges, sharing the stage with dozens of other people, we will not glean as much about them as we would during one full Real World episode where an actual character driven story is told. That is the difference between a docudrama and a game show and is why I have never connected with or gained much affinity for the Fresh Meaters. We are not seeing them in a quasi-reality real world setting, we are seeing them competing for money. I'm sure they are great people, but I don't know them beyond the game show context and would much rather see people I have spent an "intimate" season with through trials and tribulations... In essence, the journey is missing.

I wasn't trying to make a point. I absolutely understand the point being discussed. I was just saying that the first time we saw him, he was being a Real World "reject". I don't think a lot of people remember that he appeared on RW: SF before RR.

I remember. The fact that they are "rejects" isn't what is bothering people. It's that they haven't been on a season.
