Behind the Screen: Fresh Meat 2

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I remember hating Fresh Meat 2 back in the day but maybe I should give it another shot. With what hot garabage the show is today maybe I'll have a new perspective...

Fresh Meat 2

Highly recommend that people rewatch this season. It has aged so well and genuinely offers some of the best strategic moves the game has seen courtesty of Evelyn, Wes, and Kenny. Such great highs and lows for so many players--Landon and CJ aligning with Evelyn and Wes and finding out the hard way that those two were only ever looking out for themselves, Jillian being a target the entire season but being rewarded for her loyalty to Kenny as the majority alliance slowly fell apart, Jenn and Ryan impressively playing both sides. Even early boots like Sarah, Paula, Danny, and Katelynn have iconic moments and/or meltdowns worthy of stanning. Not to mention births of legends, all of whom were exactly themselves from the very beginning: Cara Maria, loved and hated from the start, Laurel, intense and dominant as ever, Theresa playing a snaky and messy game with her iconic burn votes <3 Bring back one-time legends Pete, Noor, Carley, Sandy, and Sydney too! Each an All Star in his or her own right!

Agreed. It's one if the easiest seasons to rewatch despite it being Kenny vs Wes.  The Exiles were well done.  The political game was strong by almost everyone. The winners were ideal. Even everyone in the final was deserving.  Ryan and especially Jenn dont get enough credit that season

It's a lot of Kenny and Wes which is why you likely hated it but it's good game play and good drama.  The house was split pretty good

I always liked Kenny, it was Evan and John that sucked. This is also before Wes became a caricature of himself and was a fun villain. None of my favorites were on it and coming off The Ruins which was the most dramatic season ever, I just found it so boring and anti-climatic. Little did I know what would happen to this show lol, excited for a rewatch eventually.

Also as many of you can tell, I am a Real World vs Road Rules traditionalist so I was very anti bringing on unknown Fresh Meat lol.
