Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Rivals II - Reunion

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

That wasn't my point, and I'm sure that's the case. I was just trying to make a point that not everyone who thought he was being a bit of jerk during the reunion, or at any other time, is a CT hater. I know some people love him and think he's not deserving of any blame for any of his actions, but it doesn't hurt to be objective, instead of a homer superfan. The same is true for guys like Johnny Bananas, Wes, Zach (San Diego), and the list goes on and on. CT is not my favorite, and I thought he was being a bit of a jerk, but I don't hate him. Heck, I'm sure Knight and Frank have quite a few people who like them.
I agree. Earlier you just stated one side of the argument.

I think it's just the fact that these girls grew up watching the CT/Diem love story, and it made them fall for him. It's the same with Boston Rob on Survivor. When he proposed to Amber, all of a sudden, he became idolized by millions of women. If he hadn't done that, he probably wouldn't be beloved by so many women. Love stories are always panty droppers.

I like CT but he was kind of awkward in his earlier days on these shows. He's more comfortable now. And cleaner.

He wasn't awkward? He was a straight up ****** that loved getting into people's faces and outperforming them lol

Spot on. Didn't think about that

Anyone else think that the cash prizes for this challenge was a little cheap? $62,500 for each didn't seem as much, compared to other challenges.

Eh. I don't think so. Same amount as Seasons, more than Rivals I, and less than Exes, but there were fewer winners on Exes. Plus since this was the easiest final since probably the Ruins, I didn't ever find myself thinking that what they were doing wasn't worth the check they were getting, like I did on Rivals 1. On that show 50K per person for what they had to do was cheap.

I agree and for what 3rd place did on this challenge compared to 3rd place finishers on Rivals 1... so unfair lol

I hate Diem for domesticating CT. Remember when he came back on cutthroat and he was like literally a caged animal? Thats the CT I want. The CT that Adam was scared of being partners with on Rivals. Not the soft lovey dovey CT we get now. Do you think Frank calls out Cutthroat CT on twitter? No because he would **** in his pants the next challenge he saw CT at.

I find it weird that they amp up as if the cash prize is SO MUCH more than the previous season but Duel 1 & Freshmeat still boast as the highest winnings for the winners. WHy do you think that is?

Well he did try to choke Marlon in the pool and fight him and frank on the deck. He also got into something with Ty. I wouldn't say CT is Ned FLanders now haha. He knows he is on a short leash with mtv too but he still has a quick temper ..

Why do they amp up the cash prize? To make it more extreme-sounding and bring in viewers.
