Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Rivals II - Reunion

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Frank says "hi." I can't stand him, but there's definitely a high chance of drama whenever Frank is in front of a camera.

I wonder do production or the camera man ever get tired of Frank?

Probably not. You only see the edited version of Frank. I am sure he is bearable to be around 99% of the time, it is just the 1% when he goes crazy that you wouldn't want to be around him, but that is the part they show on TV.

The best part of this reunion being live, is that no cast members can complain about the edit they get after it.
ewright006#12
does anyone know who's hosting it?
ewright006#13
they should let Coral do it.

My guess is Jonny Moseley since he hosted the last one and all of the aftershows for this season.
ewright006#15
im deployed so im behind on all the aftershows and what not..i barely get to watch the episodes online. i hope Johnny asks all the right questions.
dylan76#16
Johnny is so boring. I would rather it be Coral or Maria Menounos.

I hope someone with half a brain writes the right (as in "interesting") questions for whomever the host may be. The live show will be driven by the teleprompter. Too bad it's not TJ doing live TV, then in would be a comedy reunion -- or at least laughable.

TBH, I don't see anything half way productive coming out of this, at all... To my understanding, the cast had a meeting with the producers and know what to expect and how to behave.... If anything this is going to be extremely cringeworthy and unauthentic/ or a one-hour live footage of misbehaved kids yelling/crying while an MTV zombie is trying to read his cue off the teleprompter... The vast majority of these people are NOT made for live TV, simply as that... I honestly fail to see what MTV wants to get out of this... right now I am of the same opinion as the cast members- this is going to be a clusterf*** at its best

And, thus, you have have uncovered the reason we should watch tonight. I love a good cluster F
Blue123#20
you know what this reunion is going to be missing? The Paula crying, well that is unless something happens in this episode, oh well, hopefully Camilla/Johnny go at it or better yet it would be really funny if Frank starts crying

I agree honestly. The best part of going to reunion tapings would to see people storm off, get angry, upset, etc. and react honestly. Even though reunions are normally heavily edited, 5 hours of taping down to an hour, it's still more authentic and enjoyable for me. One thing I always hated about the Jersey Shore reunions were that they were live and everyone was so fake. We'll see tonight.

I agree. Coral asks the questions we want answers to. Johnny kinda just lets the castmates talk and direct the convo.

try 9 hours... that's the average amount of time these people need, to go through the major conflicts of the season usually... also, I heard no alcoholic beverages on set...(probably a sensible thing to do, I guess) (which, of course does not mean that some of them won't be showing up tipsy to the taping, but by the time they go live they should have sobered up mostly)

To be honest, I don't think he even listens to what they say(/really registers the words they are speaking) he just lets them talk and kinda nods and gives a "Aha" or an "ohhh" commentary... He is the upgraded MTV-zombie model, who seems to be a more proficient reader and speaker, but that's about it...

I've been to multiple reunions before, both Real World and Challenges. Never have we been taping for 9 hours.
theman23#26
I would like to see a woman host the show because they like to talk more and be in people business

then you happened to land a shorter one.... averagely they last 7-8hours,(+) they kick off mid-day and last into the night... If you don't mind me asking, which of those reunions have you been at that lasted 5 hours? The last shorty I remember was 6/6,5 hours of Portland. (Exes was almost 8, Rivals 7, Cutthroat 7, BOTS- could have been shorter-no clue about that)

She did, must suck for her to be sitting there alone next to Emily who she dislikes and Paula
TDMEL52#30
so who is ready for a giant cluster****!!
Camille#31
Get ready for Cara drama. She's already been whining about Paula and Emily on twitter and in interviews. And she hates Johnny.
