Behind the Screen: Perfect Match - Netflix

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

from his social media i didnt expect him to be so... queer. I see him totally diffrent now. He's a sweet dude.

Also Will really rubs me the wrong way. There's something real plain and souless about him.

I just realized the house they used on this show is the same as The Challenge All Stars S3

dom talking shit about will to francesca about how they have bad blood and he's not a good guy, but when he finally comes in lies to him and says "i told everyone to give you a fair chance, blah blah blah"

I haven't gotten past the first episode yet but WOW.

i get what that post is saying and agree it's an issue across the board but i also feel like they're skewing the narrative themselves by leaving out how all of them got eliminated and by who

When he found out Will was picked for the date, he told everyone in the house to give him a chance and not to let his personal issues get in the way. If it was up to Dom, it made sense not to bring Will in because as soon as Will got the chance he lied straight to Dom.

Exsactly lol. Dom is a good guy while Will is just playing to win again, which is fine but he's the snake and disingenuous not Dom.

The main staying black guys (Dom, Chase, Bartise) are only into non-African American women. Anne Sophie and Zay paired by default, their options were limited, Anne Sophie was used as a pawn for Chase to advance, she wasn't his type, Savannah wasn't making connections but also dispossable, Calvin came in at a weird time and his only option was Anne Sophie (no other girl was ever going to be interested in him or Zay), Anne Sophie's only options were picking between three black men and only one was interested, she choose the wrong guy. Bartise used Izzy to stay in the game until her was able to link with Ines and Izzy was no longer an option after getting rid of Nick, the winners set up Dom to go on a date with two black women because they thought they would look nice together but he was never going to be into Colony and Diamond regardless of if he was with Georgia or Franchesca. Colony stood no chance, and Daimond is being used by Will to advance another round until she's disposable.

The whole problem is they didn't cast contestants that were actually open to all (POC included), there were subconscious assumptions that people would hit it off based on their race which set up the girls for failure, some people played themselves not broadening their pool and then to add on there are prior relationships and interests that some but not all had, which is great for the drama and suspense of the dates, but people are already set with their types and not actually open to diversify their options. The POCs get the short end of the stick, but mainly the women because they're least diserable just in real life. With this format it just wasn't in the cards for them to find someone unless they cast dudes that had no type or if they themselves had a preexisting relationship like Joey/Kari and Franchsca/Damian. AYTO is slightly better in that regard.

Sorry I have to say this... but Ines reminds me of a boring verison of Camila Nawagaka

Lady Says#135

I don't get everyones obsession with Francesca. The other girls are prettier and much nicer

thechallenger101#136

Honestly this has been the best reality tv I watched in years. It was super messy!

ibeedevinyo#137

If I had to hear Ines say "I care about him and he cares about me" about one other person she only knew for a week....

hardbitten#138

Savannah vs Francesca is so good lmaooooo

I need more of Savannah on other shows, she's too strategic for a dating show.

TwoStrikes#139

i just finished episode 9 and i'm confused.......

if 2 new guys got brought in (bartiste and shayne), that means that the girls pick the matches at night and 2 guys go home. but diamond and ines left voluntarily, so there's 2 less girls to choose matches, meaning 4 guys should go home..... why did only mitch and will leave??? who were the other 2 guys to leave??

TwoStrikes#140

mitch is seriously the most cringe person i think i've ever ferkin seen on tv

There was already 1 extra girl because Abbey was brought in and was matched with Francesca at first and they switched it from 5 matches to 6. There wasn't two extra guys by the end of the episode, the remaining pairs were 1. Francesca & Damian 2. Joey & Kariselle 3. Dom & Georgia 4. Abbey & Bartise 5. Shayne & Chloe with Ines, Diamond, Will and Mitch choosing to leave on their own. The 4 who chose to leave on their own could have matched with someone but none of them had anyone they were interested in.

timster3#142

Word on the street one of the black men is a GAY p star

rideordie95#143

Georgia is a true Scammer/Fraud... She really had me fooled Sad

Georgia vs Dom is getting messy on Instagram now

I believe season 2 is currently filming right now (or potentially may have already completed filming) in Mexico. Does anyone have an idea of when we may get the full cast spoiled? The only alleged names I've heard so far are Harry Jowsey (THTH 1), Dom Gabriel (The Mole 1 & Perfect Match 1), and Micah Lussier (LIB 4). Also read there may be some format changes?

gabbydawn#148

Definitely seems like season two is filming. A lot of people following each other

Lady Says#149
