Behind the Screen: Twentysomethings: Austin - Netflix

The reality TV landscape has never been more crowded or more diverse. From dating shows to competition series to docusoaps, networks and streamers are betting big on unscripted content.

What sets the great shows apart is their ability to create genuine moments — the kind of unscripted drama that no writer's room could manufacture. That's what keeps fans coming back.

The trailer is reminiscent of an old school Real World season...

It'll be kinda funny if they get called to do The Challenge. I'd bet on my life that we'll get at least one of them on the challengethey getting Isha or the black guy they always try to find minoritie...

Name change! Lol -- Not Netflix prematurely releasing a trailer and press promo as Roaring Twenties, then changing the name to Twentysomethings a week and a half later

I like Roaring Twenties a lot better personally. If your gonna screw up your marketing campaign it should at least be for an upgrade

Youssarian#66

The cast looks boring tbh but I'mma tune in for at least a few episodes

gabbydawn#67

honestly all netflix reality shows are kinda boring i haven't watched any that are crazy entertaining so my expectations for this are very low

Flopnanas#68

they probably thought roaring twenties was too complicated of a title for these morons who will end up watching this flop show

So they did change the title? I was wondering if someone made an error here with the new show title.

Yeah because I come on Vevmo to talk out of my @$5 and post false information ... A simple search anywhere on the internet or visit to Netflix would've led ya to the same "error" Smile

Imma watch this today & give thoughts later.

ChampionDarrell#72

i watched the trailer, it looks extremely scripted.

i guarantee all these people are rejects from the circle. PASS.

Wait its out already? I'm gonna watch when I can then

LucciVee#74

Y'all be honest too when y'all come back with y'all reviews lmaooo

TheKonquerer#75

On episode 3 and it's watchable however if you're looking for trashy tv, this isn't that. I can say that nobody is wallpaper, everyone has a storyline. One thing I noticed is they have a lot of freedom.

TheKonquerer#76

They're also responsible for finding their own job (if they choose to get one), unlike the real world where the job was given.

thedefiantwolf#77

Watching the first episode right now! And really liking it so far

ChampionDarrell#78

netflix makes the opposite of trashy rtv

gabbydawn#79

Netflix's reality tv is soooo bland and boring the only time i've ever been entertained by one of their shows was that love is blind reunion

FromTheNorth#80

They're too big to be risking controvery. This isn't Zeus where they can get away with calling a girl a man all season and get away with it since nobodies watching

timster3#81

Netflix is known to not rely on advertisements though. They don't have much risk at all actually. And all the #BoycottNetflix trends have flopped every time they host a controversial show

Anon23432534534...#82

Wait I love this

Lady Says#83

I'm only 10 minutes in and already loving the more diverse and (seemingly) deeper cast. Much better than MTVs resused messy shallow people.

Also I like the seperate house and rooms. Seems less desperate for cheap entertainment, drama/hookups.

Could ttere still be a cross over onto the Challenge??

Flopnanas#84

So its boring with no drama?

thedefiantwolf#85

I watched the first 2 episodes and no big drama yet but could see some building as more dynamics form! I really like how diverse the cast is and how none of them seem to be clout chasers

timster3#86

Please stop praising this terrible cast and terrible show. It's giving desperate for anything that is similar to real world format. Stream Homecoming for true entertainment and clear skin.

Tell me you are salty that you didn't make it on without actually telling me you are salty lol

PinkRose#88

I don't see myself liking this so I wouldn't waste my time

I still think there's a chance Netflix tries to do a crossover Challenge/I Love Money type show. This is like their fourth reality show now so they have plenty of options already and they did try that mini Reality Games on Youtube, but they might not want to bother paying people for shows since it's cheaper to cast nobodies.

We've seen The Challenge already pick up Kelz and Ed from Netflix, plus a couple more for EOTB so it wouldn't be a surprise to see someone from here cross over

Flopnanas#90

Did the trailer show a big moment ala jersey shore when snooki was punched... I feel like this show needs a big moment especially in season 1 to have some longevity. No one wants to see twenty somethings all getting along.
