Behind the Screen: Survivor: Worlds Apart - Bring the Popcorn

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I do too, but for the wrong reasons. Ozzy

Right so I guess that's unfortunate that you lost that much interest? I mean I couldn't even get through the OW premiere or Redemption Island.

I also have no idea why you want people like Carolyn, Tyler, Sierra to lose? Even then, I guess you just like the castaways to lack any flaws? People like Shirin, Mike, Jenn, Hali, Joe have all been people I've enjoyed watching. I have full faith Shirin/Mike are gonna make a great run with one going in 4th and the other winning.

Tbh, CI isn't flat out offensive like other seasons, just boring aside from people like Billy, Ozzy, and Penner.

I liked Cook Islands. It had alot duds that season but the outcome was great. I also liked how bright and colorful the whole location was.

The outcome was pretty bs imo. Ozzy was robbed by the final 3 twist and in general, Yul lucked out with so many twists.

top 5 season.

I still think this season has Gabon written all over it.

Bac can I ask you if Jeff Probst got you all hyped pre season?

There is lots of interpersonal drama, so I can understand why Jeff hyped the season.  Besdies, it's his job to hype.

I just think he miscalculated as to how absolutely unlikable most of the cast would be and that interpersonal drama is only interesting when you care about one of the sides involved.

Redemption Island, South Pacific, One World, Caramoan, Cook Islands, Samoa: all far worse than Worlds Apart. Season is far from perfect, but to say it's the absolute worst is overreacting after having three very good previous Seasons.

The big difference between this season and previous seasons is that I stopped watching this one. Yes, it was so bad I could not force myself to watch. That squarely puts Worlds Apart at the bottom in my book.

Hoping they all lose is unfortunately not a possible Survivor outcome...

This season is keeping me hooked, just on Shirin's story alone.

The tribe chose wrongly. Shirin "monkey sex"  Okooi is actually way more annoying than Max - planters wart and all.

I agree, everyone says" Jeff hyped it so much" when that's his job, he's not going to say its a average season.
It was a much smarter move getting rid of Max, you want to keep the more annoying person to the end. Max is much more dangerous in the merge than Shirin. He has a chance of winning challenges which Shirin clearly doesn't.

Gabon was great.

I absolutely loved the original Redemption island.  I also find it funny that people are trying to compare this season to Cagayan, which is easily a top ten season of all time.  I have no doubt this season will eventually find a rank near the bottom...

I guess you just like the castaways to lack any flaws?

Nope, just these castaways. CBS needs to go back to the drawing board.

 Gabon was great.

I actually enjoyed Gabon and pulled for the eventual winner, but it was a competitvely weak season.

Strategy wise it was a super weak season, but there were so many great characters that season. Crystal, Randy, Corinne, Sugar, heck even Susie were great.

It wouldn't surprise me, casual survivor fans also rank SJDS and Seasons like Marquesas and Vanuatu low. Casual fans tend to have bad opinions and watch the show wrong.
Fresh Meat#75

Also, yeah nothing else needs to be said after you said you enjoyed RI. Like it had no good characters, no good storylines, returnees got far too much airtime, Phil was absolutely awful, etc. That season and Caramoan easily compete for the worst to date with their editing

Surely by SJDS you couldn't mean San Juan Del Sur? That was a pretty good season with a lot of try hards post-merge lol. Marquesas and Vanuatu are middle of the road (although I personally think Vanuatu was trash).

Unsure how Bacchus could love a season where a tribe throws a challenge, gets themselves blacklisted from ever being asked back, gets decimated shortly thereafter.... and then have the opposition be so delusional (like they haven't watched the show before) that they are being chauffered by the winner to Ponderosa, personally.

Fresh Meat#77

Yeah, a lot of the lists out there are by casuals (aka people who equate a good season to how many blindsides it had). SJDS is hated by most from what I've seen. I think Marquesas and Vanuatu are both top 10, easily. Curious why you didn't like Vanuatu? Starts slow, but man once the merge hits, it's great. Eliza, Ami, Twila, Chris, Rory, Scout, and even Julie were all great castaways. From Eliza vs. Twila to Chris' road to the win to the LeAnn blindside to Twila swearing on her son and her entire story arc to Ami being like a mafia boss and how she easily disposed of opposition (see Lisa/Bubba). Vanuatu is probably my second favorite after Borneo. It has my favorite FTC too.

Definitely agree with Fresh Meat on the Vanuatu love. I love that season.

What a idiotic, smug statement. It's no suprise that your views concerning the show are off in their own little reality.

Lol yeah because you haven't made incredibly smug remarks that include "lolno Natalie sucked and didn't deserve to win. No big site agrees with you so OBVIOUSLY you're wrong haha".

There are definitely people who share my view, just a thing that casuals tend to make the viewership and thus, they make up more of the majority.

Sorry, but I'm not going to participate in this***********...again.
