Behind the Screen: Siesta Key : Miami Moves - MTV

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Bye are these old *** looking guys really suppose to be in college. I may tune in, but I never really found The Hills entertaining...

— PinkRose

Yeah this is going to be another in a long line of one-off flop MTV shows like Newport Harbor, Cheyenne, Taquita & Kaui, Maui Fever, etc...

Whats funny is if it were on any other network it would have an actual chance of thriving. VH1 stays winning

VH1 knows where the viewers are at & the demographic to focus on too; something MTV can never seem to get right nowadays. To keep it funky: don't nobody wanna watch shit like this & Flora-Bama in 2017 if its not something already established (RW, Jersey Shore/Hills/Laguna Beach reboots).

Lmaooo why does that need a reboots? It literally air early this year and have been flopping really hard even before th twists seasons were introduce.

The last good season was vegas 2 in 2010. Explosion and Skeleton were somewaht sucessful, but every season since vegas 2 have been a disaster.

The last 3 were apart of the "reboots"; RW hasn't officially been canceled yet.

These 2 new shows are about to flop too so what's really the difference?

Probably "dead" like RR was for those 3 years. It'll be back once MTV realizes they won't have anything else quite like it lmao

Quite like it? Real world stop being sucessful years ago and I would never be as sucessful ever again.

Real world would be successful on VH1☕️

The guy in charge of MTV now was the one that brought back VH1 to live after the love show "scandal" and VH1 ratings went down hill. He made the channel succesful again then he decide tonleave for MTV last year...

More like MTV stopped being successful & became hot garbage. Everything else went with it.

I dont care what anyone says lmao RW still has plenty of life left in it but MTV/BMP don't know what to do with it. They don't know what to do with anything honestly.

HonestTea101#78

VH1 shows are getting anywhere as the same as Teen Mom to double of that. Love and hip hop and basketball wives be popping and trending on twitter

anon333334#79

Not those exact people (though Hottie NEEDS to be back on a show somewhere), but definitely those types of castmembers. It has to do with production as well though & VH1/51Minds >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MTV/BMP.

Daddy DAF#80

lol i was kidding i know they too old BUT WE NEED MR BOSTON BACK

anon333334#81

The name itself just SOUNDS like one of those one-off shows that MTV wanted to be a hit but it ends up failing epically lmaooooo

mariochristopher__#82

atleast if they gonnamake this show something, they should have hella drama and fights. I need another bgc fix

Im kind of disappointed. Atleast they got 1 person of color. But out of 10 ppl. They outta be ashamed

I'm sure there aren't a lot of black people in Siesta Key, I do see why they should have to have black people to just be pc. We make such an issue about race when it doesn't need to be an issue.

True, I'm kind of just wanting something entertaining although I do love diversity.

I've wanted them to win so badly over the years but if they don't want to themselves, we can't make them lmao

The fact that they haven't really had a hit show on the whole network since Jersey Shore is an absolute disaster.

I like diversity too but I don't think it should be forced and don't think every show should have it so that people aren't offended. Just like I don't think RHOA needs a white cast member, I like it being all black women.

The fact that they had nearly 9 million people watching jersey shore each week and can only pull less than 1 million now... utterly tragic.
