Behind the Screen: Reality Television: Generic Thread

Since its debut in 2000, Survivor has defined the reality competition genre with its mix of physical endurance, social strategy, and raw human drama. Jeff Probst's iconic tribal councils remain appointment television.

With the new era of shorter seasons and evolving twists, Survivor continues to reinvent itself while maintaining the core survival elements that have kept fans engaged across 50 seasons and counting.

Are they still rich?

Cosmic Castaway#243

Back on topic, the second Survivor Amazon episode was not as good as the first episode.  Especially with the religious woman not wanting the idol on camp for her fanatical reasons.  Also I don't think the way Christy is being ill treated is shameful.

Will gives me Kevin vibes

Pardon me for the omission.  My folks were rich when I was a kid, so rich that I had a pool for me to learn swimming.

As the time went, living in middle class was how it be.

This sounds fun! I have so many ideas for reality shows.

A new reality show on Tubi called House of Heat

Adult content creators move into a house to help grow each other's fanbase on OnlyFans, TikTok and Instagram. In this house, they better bring the heat.

I watched the trailer and it's messy. So much arguing and saw someone get physical.

Watching Anonymous on Peacock seems promising.

Has anyone watch the spanish reality shows on Peacock and if so are they good?

Chicken_breast#254

First episode was okay. The anonymous mode is fun and crazy.

Robbi is a Queen

Nina is a Queen

Jack is a King

Xavier is a King

What do you think are the main differences between this show and The Circle?

I love that they talk in person. Thats the main reason I don't like The Circle.

Theyre both very fast paced but don't really feel like eachother gameplay wise. The biggest difference is that you get to have two different personas to be perceived by other players. You can do whatever you want in anonymous mode but it really doesn't matter as long as you're handling yourself socially in person since they only nominate the people not their avatars

Jack is playing so well so far. Same with Nina. Xavier is also.

I'm shocked at how well Xavier's doing after telling everyone he won big brother. You'd think someone would throw his name out there even in anonymous, I think someone will wise up and throw him out there at some point but very impressive game so far

I mean they're on a made up show. If one persons proven they can win this type of show they're obviously a candidate to do it again

Dillons hate for Lilly is weird and annoying. Why they always casting these annoying gays?

Chicken_breast#263

Caught up with The Anonymous and Queen Robbi is gone.

Dillon's *** is sofake and annoying telling Chris that he would talk shit to someone's face and yet was talking shit behind people's back.

Anybody here like me watch a lot of the recent season of La Casa De Los Famosos?  It was basically Big Brother but instead of the roommates voting out each other, it was pretty much a popularity contest based on the public's decision.  And the recent winner was Maripily Rivera of whom had many arguments with most of the cast but she and her alliance partner Rohme got to the final 2.  The drama between her and Lupillo Rivera who is one of the relatives of Jenni Rivera who in 2012 died in a plane crash were the best but not as satisfying as the times when her son Joe Joe would show up and visit.  Every time he showed up you could tell that despite Maripily had the looks of an bodybuilder with huge breasts that I don't buy for a second are natural, her son had a great upbringing in terms of being polite with everyone, even Lupillo.

Cosmic Castaway#265

Battle For Ozzfest was a failed experiment since most of the bands separated including the winners A Dozen Furies.  I was more of a Cynder fan myself.

Mr. Beast's down fall is happening.

Is it TJ's fault when the challengers get shit food and no toilets? He's the host this is Amazon's problem

timster3#268

It's probably cause he's a producer (I assume). I'd sue Jeff if I went for survivor production

He's a producer and the creator of the show.

Doesn't mean he handles the contestants whatsoever. Amazon's not giving a 25 year old with no producing experience outside of youtube that much control.

Anyone watch Below Deck Down Under season 2? The way they handled the SA situations with Luke and Laura was sadly refreshing. If only production were like this on other shows. But I truly think Aesha set the tone for how this was dealt with. I've loved her on other seasons but she was amazing with this. She's the friend we all need by our side and should be for others.

Said it before but get Below Deck in the Challenge!
