Behind the Screen: Mark Long Interview: 'My Story is Not Over'

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

And allllllll those people mark listed I hope if he ever does come back NONE of them are there lol...

Hey guys -

I had the chance to interview Mark Long recently. He talked about his career in reality tv and how he wants to make it back on a Challenge soon! It was a great conversation - thought I would share!

I understand what Mark means to the history of the show but no he's one old schooler I think needs to stay retired plus he's another guy that is up Johnny's ***. No thanks!

How old is Mark? He is older or younger than Berh?

I'd enjoy seeing him on champs vs pros but not the original show

Around same age because he was considered for RW LA.

He's 46.  I mean...he's really not TOO much older than some of the others....Veronica is 39 I think. The guy is DEFINITELY in shape for it, too!

I don't understand why he even "retired" a 2nd time knowing he might get the itch to compete again. Just like Marlon, a lot of the blame is placed on him.

I think it was said he retired on Exes 1 for attention. Nothing More.

I agree, he would be a great add on for champs vs pros

I don't really get why people announce retirements at all. A lot of them just end up looking dumb when they want to come back but don't get that call or "retire" several times but keep coming back.

Literally all you have to say when people bug you on Twitter/IG is that you declined but may return in the future.

Great interview! I would love to see him back...I always liked Mark. Not a fan that him and Johnny are tight, but I'm still for old schoolers returning.
