Source? Personally I can't see Cameron on the Challenge, he doesn't seem very athletic and just seems too nice, but maybe MTV just likes having the soryline of active couples on the show now

I have been doing spoilers since free agents and I have never heard of any challenge negotiations to happened like that. There has never been a time that they meet in person like that usually everything is doing remotely except for testing.

So either fake news or that person didn't word it properly.
