Remembering Diem Brown

Diem's frined Alicia posted an update on twitter. She said that Diem has started chemo but, she still has pain. She also said that Diem still has a long road ahead of her...

I just want her to beat this.

I was so afraid that the longer wait for news was a bad sign! However, if anyone can beat this, it's Diem. Stay strong sweetie and know that we are praying for you every day!

im freaking devestated....Please dont get mad wit me because Im just being honest and expressing how I feel in no way am I trying to be negative because I want SO BADLY for her to pull through but.....the circumstances just seem so somber.

it is completely taking over her body....And now more than ever, Im very scared for her or any news we may hear next

But as always I am praying for a complete recovery and for her to NEVER have to go through this again....

I honestly didn't want to read the article. This is just some of the worse news I've heard since Diem was diagnosed. It's just so incomprehensible. Just to think of all the things we take for granted every damn day.... Walking around in this gorgous October weather, going to the mall with your boyfriend, not waking up in excurciating pain.  And somehow, someway, this girl still managaes to have a smile. Incredible.

She's a soilder. She won't allow herself to give up or just hope for the best. She is going to make it. I just wish there is something I could do for her other than donating money on MedGift. I wish she had some sort of fan P.O box where people could send her some cute stuff. I saw the most gorgeous pajamas/lounge wear at Lord and Taylor and I wished I could have sent them to her.

I know exactly what you're saying. It's tough news to hear but nothing is set in stone. We can't even alow those thoughts in our minds becasue Diem certainly hasn't. We just gotta be confident and lend her even more support. 

She is a warrior with an unwavering spirit, who should serve as an inspiration to each and every one of us. Keep fighting Diem.

The article was a tough one but an honest one.  This situation is not going to be a walk in the park and is very very serious.  Diem is insanely tough and has all the will in the world to want to beat this and she has a huge support system.  All we can do is continue sending her love (she said she reads everyones tweets), praying for her, and if you are financially able you can donate to help with her medical bills.  https://www.medgift.com/diemsnextchallenge

That article was hard to read but Diem is tough as hell and she will beat it. It is sad to see such a good person going through something so horrible. I hope she starts feeling better and the pain stops. God bless her, she is a true inspiration She is in my prayers always<3

It's not insensitive of you. You will get around to it when your ready. I've felt the same way too about reading articles, seeing pictures, posts, etc. I think we all care very much for Diem and want to see her get better but at the same time if we read these things too much, we can get depressed in our own daily lives. The fact is, we all have to function in our own lives, go to work or school and we can't let ourselves get so sad over people we have never met that we end up walking down the street in tears and getting asked questions by people, like what's up with her.    

There have been times I've had to remind myself, yes it's okay to care but no I do not know these people (CT and Diem) in my own real life so care but don't let it get out of hand, but it just goes to show just how much Diem's story has affected me that I do end up thinking of her a lot even though I've never met her. Sure any sadness we may feel just reading about Diem's situation is nothing compared to the pain that Diem has had to go through, but we are only human and it's normal to feel some sadness over this and to want to protect ourselves by limiting looking at certain things and it's also normal in this situation to want to seek out information too. I've done both. In the end, I'm glad Diem is sharing because I think it's not only helping so many cancer survivors but I think Diem thrives off of knowing she can help others; it helps keep her spirits up.  Anything that does that, I'm all for. I so admire her and her positivity and continuing to hold on to her dreams.

There's a new People magazine article today. Poor Diem has to defend her dream of having a family to all of the haters. Don't worry sweet girl, there are plenty of us out here who love you and support your dreams! You keep fighting and we'll keep praying!!

The pic accurately portrays the Diem I heard from on Tuesday via twitter DM.  She has not lost her fighting spirit even though she says her reaction to chemo this time is much different (harsh) than she experienced with her previous episodes. 

Although I've kept in contact with others close by her side in NY., this was the first time I'd heard directly from Diem in a while -- and it definitely was a relief to know she is feeling strong enough to communite directly with some of us (as I assume I'm not the only old freind to whom she has responded.) 

She has a very committed medical team fighting as hard for her as the science allows, and I'm convinced that our prayers for her are not for naught.

My thoughts to a downright T. Diem is hot but a apart of me wishes Derrick and Diem would've officially happened a least for a season. Hang in there!
