As many of you know, Chris Tamburello's brother was brutally murdered in 2008. It's hard to even begin to summarizethe events leading to the murder, but it is an incredible story. His father created a website about the murder, the events leading up to the murder, and the fight they have been fighting since 2008 to get a fair trial. The website is Justice4vinnie.com. Mr. Tamburello also gives updates on the Justice4vinnie.com facebook page. There are some interesting pictures of CT when he was younger as well as Vinnie Tamburello Jr. and the rest of the family. I've always been a huge fan of CT and it's clear the rest of his family are pretty incredible as well.
As far as the case, apparently the men that Vinnie Tamburello Jr. had confronted were some low level drug dealers and informants for the District Attorney. These low lifes had went as far as trying to intimidate Vinnie's girlfriend's mother and assaulted her. When Vinnie Jr. showed up and wouldn't back down, they had their "muscle" for their little gang, Gib Bastian, who is reportedly 6' 6'' and weighs over 300+ pounds step up to Vinnie. Vinnie dropped him with one punch. Vinnie waited for the cops to arrive and reports were filed. This out of towner, Vinnie, had come to this small Vermont town and exposed these cowards and then dropped their "intimidator" with a single punch. They couldn't have that. This was one of a series of events that led to the final altercation....
On August 17, 2008, Vinnie was driving with his girlfriend and one of her female friends when he received a call from one of the low life's baiting him to meet them at a softball park to "talk". Vinnie agreed to meet them. Dozens of witnesses said that when Vinnie pulled in, a group of 10-12 men rushed towards him and the girls. Vinnie left a tazer with his girlfriend to defend herself with and grabbed a tool from the back of the truck, a splitting maul. He then charged the group of 10 + men with the maul, and the group scattered. One of the men, Kyle Bolaski, fell near Vinnie's feet, and Vinnie moved on past him and took the maul and started smashing Bolaski's truck. (He had an opportunity to strike Bolaski with the maul but didn't, according to witnesses). While Vinnie smashed the truck, Kyle ran to the other side and pulled out a hunting rifle, and shot Vinnie in the leg. Vinnie dropped the maul, and started to walk away, retreating from the gunman. Kyle then shot him in the back. As Vinnie lay dying, the group of men (now suddenly brave) rushed Vinnie and kicked and beat him with the butt of the rifles. Vinnie was still alive and able to speak when the police arrived, but died soon after.
Onto the case, apparently the Bolaski brothers and the rest of the low level thugs were informants for the local District Attorney, Robert Sand. Sand refused to bring Kyle Bolaski or the other's to trial. He tried to intimidate the family into letting the case go with a slap to the wrist to Bolaski, threatening to bury the case if they didn't keep silent. As anyone who watches CT on The Challenge would guess, they thought very wrong if they thought the Tamburello's would just roll over. Mr. Vincent Tamburello Sr. and his family have courageously fought incredibly hard and overcame unbelievable obstacles within the Vermont Government. Due to pressure caused by the corruption being exposed and the family not rolling over, the D.A. Robert Sand was removed from the case, and Bolaski went to trial. Now finally without a corrupt DA protecting them and a fair hearing where all the evidence could finally be looked at, the jury very quickly found Bolaski guilty and gave him 25 years.
Last year though, now with Robert Sand and some of his corrupt partners in different politcal prominence in Vermont, the Vermont Supreme Court was allowed to be submitted some of the proven perjured testimony and falsified evidence which led them to call for a retrial and set Bolaski free. Now the Tamburello's are having to go through this exhaustive fight again. Incredibly, the Tamburello's are gearing up again, and once again, they are not asking for any special favors, just for a clean, honest trial where ALL of the evidence can be presented. They never set out to try to fight corruption amongst Vermont politicians and officials, this fought was brought to them. They only wanted whats fair for their son. On the bright side, this does give us fans of Chris CT Tamburello a unique chance to help him and his family when they could use it the most. The more light that is shed on this case, the harder it will be for Sand and the other corrupt officials to try to bury the case and let the murderers go free. I personally have never met the Tamburello's but through the site have had the privelege to speak with Mr. Vincent Tamburello Sr. and I can tell you he's a real class act. I never thought when me and my friends were cheering for CT on The Challenge that I'd ever have the chance to be a small part in helping his family fight for justice for his brother. I by no means now "know" the family or them know me, but as impressed as me and my friends have been with CT's character and impressive athletic abilities on The Challenge, I'm even more impressed with his and his family's character and the strength they've consistently shown fighting this fight that no family should ever have to face. This fight has implications on us all, because if it can happen to the Tamburello's, it can happen to us too.
Hopefully he gets the justice he deserves...
