Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Vets and New Threats - Dee Valladares

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

What part of Miami? You either haven't live there long or didn’t spend time in areas like Hialeah, Miami Gardens, or Little Havana, which have large Hispanic populations that have a lot of ppl that talks like her/Josh (not all but the majority). Dee’s accent is the typical Cuban “Hialeah girl” accent, despite being born in the U.S., her first language was probably Spanish, and she likely had to have ESOL classes during her early school years. As someone who grew up close to those areas during middle and high school but has since moved to other states, I still recognize a Miami girl accent even from miles away. It’s similar to Amaya from Love Island, who was born here but has the Dominican Bronx accent.

Just cause you are from a certain part of the country it doesnt mean you will or won't have an accent. Some people that were born in my neighborhood have heavy accents while others have none. CT is from Boston and has an accent, so is Cara and she does not.

get your point, and yeah, but Dee’s accent is that typical Cuban Miami girl accent, like Cosmicdiva said.

I personally don’t have an issue with anyone’s accent. That’s the beautiful thing about this countryit’s a melting pot with so many different accents. People just need to step outside their bubble and educate their ears to understand others.

It was reported in her Survivor bio that Dee was born in Havana. I don't know when she immigrated though.
