Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Vets and New Threats - Adrienne Naylor

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Her having more confessionals than someone that was on 4 season is wild...

These seasons are 30-60 minutes longer and long double the amount of episodes. So you really can't compare old stats to new era stats. With 30 minute long boring missions with nothing happening but running back and forth, there's tons of extra commentary to waste time with. She had bubbly confessionals with her weird lipstick outline, but what did she add to the house dynamics? She was a snooze.

Realistically, what have any of these rookies actually added outside of confessionals & competition? Bias aside, the rookies girls were all flops entertainment-wise — they’re all just variations of Averey but with better confessionals. The days of messy girls are long gone.

Like I always said yall stan any mediocre white girl who raises her voice an octave yet expect the poc competitors to bend backwards and its still not enough. Yawns always the same fecal!

I don't blame the rookie girls. You put them with a bunch of boring oldheads like Derrick and Leroy and expect them to turn up? DROP THE AARP MEMBERS.

No one on this entire cast outside of Ashley/Nany/Aneesa actually got loud the entire season. Maybe give them some fun stuff to do like some town trips, a boat ride, or just a beach trip and see how much more fun they'll have.

Also the rookie men are nothing in the entertainment department outside of Will and a lil bit Justin. And none were looking to hook up, really. Cedric's a nice little boy. Yeremi's a complete snooze. Jake barely existed. Leo put his balls in Ashley's purse. Gabe's weird. Ben's a goof.

And once again, Averey "Mother" Tressler (with Tony, of course) delievered the best episode of 40. Stop hating. I guarantee if you put a fan vote to who do want to see back: Averey or Olivia, Averey's getting 80% of that vote.

OS Kajun#128

Not all drama was shown. So with such terrible editing and storyline telling and with a production company who despises entertainment and success, it's really impossible to say who is entertaining.

The editing does remain a problem. Imagine we removed 7 mins of daily every other episode to watch them hit the beach, or make out on a booze cruise, or just walk the streets of the city. Watching them have some FUN. God forbid.

Dee/Sydney weren't getting loud with no one outside confessionals lol They are afraid of confrontation.

Tay is Jenna she is to lady back. America just exist & Blue gave me confessionals gangster too.

You have to look at the propensity of the evidence and the amount of data points. Who comes back over and over (and over and over) again and delivers nothing? That's Leroy. That's Derrick. That's Olivia. That's Derek. And who comes over and over again and delivers the same boring, tired, unwatchable drama? That's Aneesa. That's Cara.

Drop those people already! This show cannot survive dropping a Nurys. You need a younger generation to overwhelm and shove off these oldheads already. It's 5 seasons past time for that. Keep trying with Love Island rookies, keep picking the cream of the crop from Survivor and Big Brother. Establish a good, likable, fun under 30 (or at least under 35 lol) pool of contestants.

Sportsman180#132

If I was pulling four or five from each of the four crops from 41 for 42, I'd go:

1.) Theo 2.) Bananas 3.) Turbo 4.) Rogan 5.) CT (only if he's lost 50 pounds)

1.) Nany 2.) Ashley 3.) Michaela 4.) Aviv 5.) Ugh...Cara, I guess?

1.) Sydney 2.) Adrienne 3.) Izzy 4.) Dee 5.) Leka (over Blue)

1.) Will 2.) Justin 3.) Leo 4.) Cedric 5.) Gabe (over Yeremi)

You talked about how Sydney went off during a deliberation and how production loved how crazy she was. You've been consistent on Dee at least. I am shocked Sydney is afraid of confrontation. I expected her to say whatever to whomever. That has been kind of a letdown. Dee on the otherhand, I just think she doesn't care. The way she laughs at dramatics is kinda funny. She brings it in enough other areas that she gets a pass.

GoldenRing#134

Didn't she clarify the Sydney thing was the roast we got a glimpse of? I don't think Sydney went in on anyone in the context of anger, just something that's supposed to be playful, but lightly rude.

OS Kajun#135

She said during preseason she hopes that Sydney going off during deliberation wasn't edited out bc it was iconic. She roast wasn't at a deliberation.

I never said she went off? I said that she drag them by calling them poor and ugly which we later found out it was a roast.

Thank you, a normal humanbeing  that actually has common sense.

Sportsman180#139

Sydney's way less of a "popper off" than I expected. Oh well. She still works. We need a VARIETY of personalities on this show!!!

GoldenRing#140

She's one of the rookies I liked, but she's been such a non-factor these past five episodes.

Five episodes? The entire season. A cute personality, a couple of memorable confessionals, and doing well in one elimination is all she's got. She was Olivia's lapdog the entire way. She's had 2% more impact on the story of the season than Tay.

Sportsman180#142

She's got the heart of the champion. But the athletic ceiling of a 3rd placer.

I do appreciate her spirit. But giving her a spot on 42 is just such a waste.

No matter how many times you post this it is not going to change same as Averey getting another spot on flagship season.

And this is the problem with the show. They'll continue casting who they like over who makes good tv. She had 19 episodes and gave not a single thing on one of those episodes. I'm generally good with accents, but she's hard to understand. That's not good for tv. She'll return and give nothing but being a lapdog for Tory or Olivia, which I guess is exactly what production wants, someone to protect their white girl victim noise makers.

You ride hard for this footnote of footnotes. If Averey is "irrelevant", then by comparison Adrienne is a spec of dust on an ant's back. 0 Daily Wins. Carried in 3 of 4 eliminations. Olivia's lap dog. Did nothing to improve her standing or win agency the entire season. DNF Final. Had no more impact on the story of the season than Jake or Tay. Other than getting a ton of confessionals (this show REALLY loves "hot air" confessionals like Olivia and Adrienne), she had no story line or even airtime in like 14 of the 19 episodes. And that's particularly bad when you make the final on a season becuase you should be getting 5-10% of the airtime consistently by default since there's way less people.

Hope you enjoy her four episode arc next season because she's gonezo after that.

She's bubbly and fun as a person, but when she loses in the first individual elimination next season, even less of that will air on the show. She's a layup.

So Oldshooler and that Kajun guy with the racist takes are the only users left on this site? No wonder the site and the show are dead.
