Behind the Screen: The Challenge: USA 2 - Ratings

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

damn right on the money of my prediction lol

Flopnanas#65

damn literally a drop of over 500K YIKES

amandagarciaisaqueen#66

LMAOOOO I knew it there was no way over a million new people tuned in after that horrible first episode lol

PinkRose#67

damn literally a drop of over 500K YIKES

Which is way more realistic than getting an extra 1 million viewers

WesTracked#68

and they'll only hold onto this as carry over from BB episodes. There's nothing to intrigue new viewers. They proved it last night when their social media team wasn't even clocked in to watch the show live.

Bare minimum effort you get bare minimum results

Last night was a good episode and I wish the ratings would have reflected that but even with DVR numbers it's gonna be bad numbers because sports always kills Sunday CBS shows. They need no new programming on Sundays. It's gonna be annoying all season for BB.

It should be on Wednesdays and Thursdays tbh.

I mean the episode didn't start until 10:15. CBS is like actively trying to kill it.

PinkRose#72

1.55 Millions with a 0.3 on the demo

This isn't doing bad at all

Sportsman180#74

If they aired Big Brother at 8 and this at 9, it would be doing amazingly.

timster3#75

Jonna brought the ratings back and y'all better rejoice and be GLAD about it!

ChampionDarrell#76

y'all want this show to do so badly, and it's doing great lol

OS couldn't have been more wrong about the "tired vets" hurting ratings.  Expecting USA3 to happen soon.

Did I say they would hurt it or did I say that John said the first season did bad because vets weren't on it and then laughed when it did worse...So far this season's great so I hope to see the ratings reflect that. I would have prefered to have seen all CBS ppl on this but I am enjoying see the vets play a game without the numbers and casting Amanda who has no loyalty to the vets makes it 100x better.

It didn't do worse--as we esxplained to you then but you failed to comprehend it as per usual.  Amanda was on cast when you first complained about it and how it wasn't helping the ratings.  The reality is--from episode 1 the ratings were better when you acknowledge the timeslot and John, Tori, Cory and Wes are part of a reason for that because it brings in that fan base.  Amanda and Jonna don't add as much even though Jonna's my favorite of the 6--it's easy to admit obvious things even when you dislike reality.

Ratings are worse even though this season is better. And I was mad when Amanda was announced. I wanted no vets. Ratings are worse tho, I'm right per usual.

Not even close to right as always

Okay this is definitely getting a season 3 right?

Sportsman180#85

It's doing great. Will be a staple summer show for CBS as long as they keep casting well.

It's doing okay, but if Buddy Games is a surprise hit that show would replace CUSA as a summer BB companion series because it is cheaper to produce.

Not expecting much interest for that

no way, this show crosspromotes their 3 main reality shows instead of having to spend on ads

reality shows are super cheap anyway compared to scripted, there's not a better show to go after BB than this

For sure, no CGI plus even someone like Bananas' appearance fee is probably still less than an average network star makes an episode

WesTracked#91

bffr if you think buddy games isn't getting canceled after 1 season
