the show used to be 30 minutes and it worked. I don't like anything that runs for more than an hour, it's not edited properly anymore. Just shorten it

Yeah but that ended 18 years ago and it had a much different editing team and a different style/format. Fundamentally a different show. They are not going to cut the dailies and eliminations down to 8 minutes each because they know that's why the casuals tune in. So all you're eliminating with these cutdowns is house time.

No, they need to fix editing. This show does not need an hour and a half. Atp I'm just tuning in during the last half. I did like some of the house strategizing we got last season, hopefully they continue to improve that aspect. Also I can be a fan of the show and tune in casually.

Free Agents was 13 episodes and it was perfect. They were also an hour outside of the premiere which was 90mins. Back then we had compelling castmembers. Now the cast is just randos with little to no connection among each other so the investment for me as a viewer is not the same as back then
Sportsfool nobody here wants watch 75 minutes of michelle explaining daily challenges, lete/deb/tori making flatulence jokes, adrienne talking about her mom, and Cara Maria making amber heard jokes when she's a victim of abuse as well. If that's what YOU want then go for it but the majority of us here will be bored to death. Maybe stick to sports broadcasting idk

I agree that the editing needs to be fixed. They had several storylines in 30 min episodes and we get one per 90 now.
If we had the right cast and editing, it would be fine. But these 90 minutes episodes will be filled with workout clips and all the annoying girls doing something cringey, like wearing fake mustaches. We dont have the personalities to carry those 90 minutes effectively.

But that's a good point you bring up. Yes, Free Agents was perfect. But that was 12 years ago. The franchise has moved past the same group of characters every season. You cannot rely on your audience knowing 90% of the cast and their pre-existing relationships from RW/RR/TC. You need airtime in order to develop the new people. The new people as it stands now are almost universally underedited. Justine and Adrienne lasted the whole season and didn't whiff a storyline. Take 60% of the show away and they'll all be ghosts.

That leaves 15 minutes total per episode of house drama/politics.
Given the last two episodes would be the final, that adds up to 2 hours and 30 minutes of house drama/politics in the ENTIRE season.
Assuming a 62 minute episode has around 25 minutes of daily, 15 minutes of elimination, and 22 minutes of house politics, a recent season of The Challenge has around 6 hours and 15 minutes of house drama/politics in a season.
You want to shave over half the opportunities for storylines/house politics/romances/character development off the table this this editing team?

Less is more...dragging out a season for more than 2-3 months is unnecessary. No if they want to drop all episodes at once and you can binge them then fine but 5 months for a season made sense and hurt the quality of the show.
