Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Final Reckoning Departure Day / Speculat

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

nu uh.  His having his sister write notes and slipping them throughout the house with productions help was brilliant and the best part of the season - he told us so during the reunion.   Even if it was largely irrelevant and uninteresting and only took up about twenty minutes of one episode.  There is zero chance this franchise could survive without his ********* antics.

maybe to the casual, small minded viewers that was 'brilliant'.  That was such a small dumb part of this season it was almost forgettable if he didn't try to shove it everyone's faces to attempt to make it relevant.  ;)

Yeah I thought it was obvious i was being sarcastic.  I’ve been tired of John since his first season.   Would love nothing more than if production stopped casting him after this season.

I will clean it up later when I get home and reopen it, unless someone beats me too it.

Even John's rep as a wily player is mostly overrated.  All wins aren't created equal.  He won the vast majority of his seasons when it was a lot easier to do so-- The Island had like 6 winners, so his being one of them (anda peripheral one at that) isn't all that impressive.  So did The Ruins.  I guess beating Kenny/Wes in the final on Rivals (with a good partner in Tyler) was impressive-ish, but it was also a weak cast-- CT was partnered with Adam, who was dead weight.  Exes was impressive-ish, though he had a good partner there, too.  Free Agents was legit impressive.  Rivals 2 the deck was stacked for him.

So really one impressive win in 20 tries.  Ehhhh.

I have to disagree about him beating Kenny and Wes. If I'm remembering correctly, they were quite a bit ahead of Johnny and Tyler but then they only got like a two minute headstart on the next leg. So really, I think they would have lost. Kenny and Wes should have gotten a longer headstart, the amount of time they were ahead of everyone else. Like I said I'd I'm remembering that correctly, it's been a while.

Ish.  It was a weak cast.  He had a good partner and most of the strong players were carrying dead weight.  Wes had Mandi (dead weight); Cara wasn't Cara yet; Mark Long had Robin (dead weight); Emily had Ty (dead weight).  He did beat CT in the final, but that final was missing anyone else that was particularly strong or wasn't burdened by having a zero partner.
