Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Australia- Ryan Gallagher

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Another terrible haircut lol. I mean can we get a fade or something or at least a typical long blond surfer hair...

Why did you want to do The Challenge?

There's a lot of things that I want to do to push myself out of my comfort zone that I usually keep myself in. You only have a certain amount of years to live and I want to look back when I'm older and be very proud of myself.

I also want to win the money to help me and my family, which means a lot to me.

What are your strengths and weaknesses coming into The Challenge?

I'm a really good runner and I run between 8 - 14k every second day. Plus, I can eat anything! I'm pretty headstrong with swallowing any type of food.

I'm ok at swimming and being in cold water, but one of my weaknesses is heights, so being on buildings and cliffs is a bit of a shock to my system.

But my biggest weakness would be that I won't screw anyone over to get to the finish line. I don't have it in me, and if I did win I would never forgive myself because I think that someone else would be more deserving. If I got to the final it would have to be the right way.

How do you handle confrontation?

I handle confrontation pretty well. I can definitely deflect, and I'm very good with words which has gotten me out of a lot of crap when I was younger and had a big mouth.

The Bachelor crew seems like the type to lie on someone they all hate to get them cancelled like Josh and Aneesa did to Ashley. Konrad isn't even gay and that's who he fought in the episode.

If you watched those 2 episodes and couldn't clock him as a homophobe your blind.
