Behind the Screen: The Challenge: All Stars 5 Rivals- Ratings

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

i think overall they're okay. taking out sports & the news, it was like #5 on cable for the night. i also imagine far more ppl are watching here than ever did on p+ so that's already a win for them

Two weeks in a row they changed the name on the schedule and botched everyone's DVR. I pay for cable and two weeks in a row I'm watching on a third party streaming website.

No S39 had lower episodes.

No S39 had lower episodes.

Season 39 only had one lower than that. It was Episode 4 when they burned off two episodes in one night to try and get to the Champs faster.

I think 8 of the 10 teams quitting the daily might've turned off a lot of the casual viewers this episode. The complaints all over facebook are relentless. Episode 3 might get ugly...

Flopnanas#42

I fear its gonna keep dropping.... wouldn't be shocked if an episode gets under 200k

It's an honestly terribly constructed cast in terms of star power and fan rootability.

There are D-Tier stars making up the MAJORITY of the cast.

Cara's controversy tweets are receiving more views than any challenge episode since like the pandemic.

I don't think MTV is expecting it to hold against Survivor

Don't they only have like 3 shows and then constantly play ridiculousness otherwise? I don't see why they can't just move to another night instead of going head to head against a show that they literally cast from to try and get their viewers over

i've been trying to find an answer for this for such a long time and i've never gotten a strong argument.. or an argument at all for that matter. what the **** was wrong with Challenge Tuesdays? The ratings were literally better. no point ever in trying to compete with big ***** survivor

Maybe because The Challenge is the only show they have that would get any viewers against Survivor?   Honestly, I don't know.  I think they should at least have it on after Survivor but...there's gotta be a reason

Sportsman180#59

It must be something along the lines of because Survivor is still popular enough to bring in 4-5 million viewers that it makes the Wednesday 8pm block the most valuable advertising time.

So getting 250-300k at Wednesday 8pm must make them more advertising dollars than 450-500k at Wednesday 9pm or Tuesday or Thursday 8pm.

I have no idea, it doesn't sound right to me but that must be what's going on.

5 million people tune every week to watch people sit on an island and eat dirt all day?
