25. Beth vs. Norman - Battle of the Seasons

I bet no one saw this coming! This rivalry is super underrated IMO. Battle of the Seasons was the first challenge where the contestants could vote other players off. Norman was already strategizing at the beginning, making it known that he wanted to eliminate Beth right away. "Well, the first person I want to see go? Osama "Beth" Laden!" And thus, the brilliant nickname, Osama "Beth" Laden stuck! Beth's reason for despising Norman was hilarious. "Norman is jealous of me because he was trying to sell that stupid movie. And I sold a movie. I feel sorry for him because he's pushing forty and he's unsuccessful and ya know, he's an angry person." It was amazing how two of the oldest players in the house were starting drama on the first day! Norman ended up winning the first challenge and was part of the inner circle, which means that he had the opportunity to kick Beth off. And he actually did! This rivalry is great because Norman started the tradition of voting off Beth just because he hated her, which continued in future seasons. For example, Beth ended up getting voted off early on the very next challenge while the girls kept a pregnant Gladys LMAO Beth's rant after getting voted off by Norman was EVERYTHING! 

Forward to 34:20-35:16

The Winner: Everyone knew Norman was the champion the moment he shouted "Osama "Beth" Laden has to bounce!"  

24. Frank R. vs. Tori - The Gauntlet 3

These two would have been a kick *** team on Rivals III! Even though Tori is a good player, I think she is one of the most annoying, self righteous, obnoxious cast members ever and I've always wanted someone to give her a verbal lashing. The only person that put Tori in her place on The Gauntlet 3  was Frank, which made me LOVE him. Their rivalry started when Tori and the RW: Austin girls wanted to use Jillian as a scapegoat for the gauntlet, which w***tupid since Jillian was one of their best players. They even had the opportunity to vote Rachel (who completely SUCKED at everything) into the gauntlet against Janelle. Frank stood up for his girlfriend, which led to a screaming match between him and Tori.

I feel like all the viewers at home were thinking "GET THAT *****!" when Frank was going off on Tori. I loved every minute of it. Tori's awfulness increased throughout the season. When Frank was voted into the gauntlet, Tori was the ringleader in suggesting that MJ should face him instead of Nehemiah who was the main reason why they lost that day's mission. The main reason why Tori wanted to vote for MJ is because she thought MJ would kick Frank's *** in the gauntlet. Tori would constantly yell "I want Frank off my team!" which w***ooooo dumb like hello?!? You idiot, he's one of your best teammates! When Frank surprisingly defeated the bigger MJ in the gauntlet (one of my favorite eliminations ever, you guys should check it out), Tori's face was priceless. "It kills me to see Frank come out on top, YET AGAIN." HA HA your plan didn't work, *****! Although these two argued a lot, they ended up winning together after the horrible Veteran team was disqualified in the final mission. 

The Winner: Frank, hands down. I commend him for being able to put up with such an awful, entitled brat. Frank kicked *** throughout the season and was the best player on their team. During the final mission, all of the rookies were sleeping while Frank was the one that pulled the treasure chest out of the sand. In the finale, Tori FINALLY said: "I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm glad Frank and Jillian are on my team." Frank IS the reason why Tori won her first challenge. I bet Tori felt extremely grateful knowing that her plan to eliminate Frank didn't work. Karma eventually came back to bite Tori on her very next challenge. She ended up getting her *** kicked by Aneesa on The Duel II so justice w***erved

23. Beth vs. Tina - The Duel

Beth came into The Duel, knowing that she had no one on her side. She went rogue and it was amazing to watch. "I think I'm going into the duel every single time because there's a bunch of******* on this one. But I JUST LOVE messing with them and playing with them. It's actually very fun for me." Queen (= I love how she wasn't afraid of anyone! Tina jumped on the bandwagon of hating Beth since that was the thing to do. "So of course, BETH, once again thinks she's the targeted cast member. She loves to play the victim. I mean, she's CRAZY. We all see this. And she's UGLY, which we all see this tooooo." After the second mission was over, everyone was praising Diem for taking off her wig and kicking ***. It w***uch a beautiful moment that quickly got ruined by Beth and Tina calling each other******* lmaoooo Tina ended up punching Beth, which resulted in her getting disqualified. 

Forward to 2:02-4:24 

Tina's one-liner was great: "Punching Beth was like punching a piece of pig! But I know you didn't feel it. Because that BOTOX has gotten your face all frozen! I did us ALL a favor! Everyone's been wanting to do that FOREVER!" 

The Winner: Beth! She got what she wanted. Tina ended up going home while Beth continued to torment the other girls. I love both of them but Tina was an idiot for saying that punching Beth was worth $150,000. Tina is also the loser in the rivalry because that punch was weak as **** LOLOL like if you're gonna get kicked off for fighting, at least make the punch worth it! Tina's punch w***oooooo sad. It didn't even connect. I know Beth could've kicked her *** but I'm glad she didn't because we were able to witness many awesome Beth moments throughout The Duel (= Beth even knew she could've wrecked Tina. "She's ******* intimidated by me. She's ******* out of her mind. Anybody can hit anybody! I could clock the ***** too. You know what I'm saying? TRUST ME, I could clock the *****! But the difference is, I don't have to prove it!" And after that little speech, Beth was declared the winner

22. Beth vs. Montana - The Gauntlet 2 

Hands down, one of my favorite Beth rivalries ever! Let's take the moment to appreciate Beth because she made Montana relevant on The Challenge. I remember that Beth and Montana didn't get along on the very first Real World vs. Road Rules format. Their rivalry increased on The Gauntlet 2. During the Rickshaw Races challenge, there was a rule that allowed one of the girls to be safe from competing in the gauntlet. Beth tried convincing her team that she should sit out and be safe. However, Montana didn't agree and said that Beth should compete since she is a runner and the mission required a lot of endurance. The team eventually sided with Montana, which pissed Beth off. The team voted Beth into the gauntlet against Ruthie, which would become one of my FAVORITE moments ever in Challenge history. When Beth defeated Ruthie and became the team captain, the Veterans looked like they witnessed a murder lmaoooo it was priceless because Beth was glowing while they all looked super depressed.

When Montana tries to make up with Beth, both girls say that they don't want to fight each other. The moment Montana walks away, Beth looks at the camera and sticks her tongue out of her mouth lmaoooooo that has to be one of the funniest moments that ever happened on a challenge. 

Beth h***o many great quotes in this episode:

"OK, I'm like the last person that anyone would ever think to be the captain and NOW I'M THE CAPTAIN AND THERE'S NOBODY ON MY TEAM THAT COULD BEAT ME SO GOOOOOD LUCK LADIES!"

"I'm a nice person. Just work with me and I'll work with you. If you're gonna **** with me, I'M GONNA **** YOU HARDER! If the girls team loses again, Montana, your *** is MINE and I can't wait. I can't wait to send you home!"

Beth kept her word and ended up sending Montana home in the next female gauntlet. Forward to 18:50 to witness another one of Beth's amazing interviews:

Doing this write up makes me miss Beth. We haven't had a recent female villain that even comes close to her. LMAO I just realized 3/4 of these rivalries so far featured Beth and it's hilarious because she is still going to be featured throughout the list B) 

There should be a thread dedicated to Beth's quotes because she has the funniest commentary. I've watched The Gauntlet 2 a million times and she ALWAYS managed to crack me up every single time. Beth's legacy will never be forgotten.

Beth and Montana was also one of my favorite rivalries. The episode that Beth went against Montana on The Gauntlet 2 had me glued to my ******* seat. It was THAT good. 

And Beth's win against Ruthie in the Gauntlet is also one of my favorites. If only for the look on The Veterans faces after she won knowing they now have BETH as a captain.

Beth is the OG shit stirrer and no one has since matched her.

Thats why I like Wes because he knows to play a character too. I get it's supposed to be real people and such but more people should purposely play the villain on these shows IMO

No Male-female rivalry surpasses Nia & Jordan for me. It all started from what was supposed to be a nice **** sucking on a pool table which turned into lamps being used as a weapon, cheerio spit, loud & intense arguments, & a vote to send one of them out of the house. Then continued onto The Challenge which resulted in a d/q.

For real that was the weirdest, most intense boy/girl rivalry in MTV history imo. It was too good not to be scripted in some way. Nia played it out meticulously. I think her fight with Averey on RW Portland was one of the best girl/girl rivalries on the show as well, but then they had to go and get along on Exes 2 like civilized human beings.

21. Ellen vs. Puck - Battle of the Sexes

Oh man, I REALLY wish these two became regulars because they would have been awesome in future seasons. I think Ellen and Puck are some of the best one-hit wonders in Challenge history. They've brought more to the show in their one appearance than most competitors (Jenna, Leroy, Casey, Ryan K) do in multiple seasons. Puck was known as one of the most controversial Real World cast members. When he showed up on Battle of the Sexes ten years later, he w***TILL the same batshit crazy *** Puck. Him and Ellen HATED each other with so much p***ion. Their rivalry began when Puck arranged for him and his wife to get married in Jamaica. Ellen thought it was odd that Puck was only having a wedding with RW/RR cast members and told him that he's just doing it "all for show". Both of them were so open about their dislike for each other, it was great! Their first argument went something like:

Ellen: I think you're an ***. And I think you're a jerk.

Puck: I'm 34 and you're 24. CHECK YOURSELF. 

Forward to 2:25-4:00 to witness this gem

Their rivalry increased and it w***o amazing that one whole episode was focused on their entire argument! Ellen had a major meltdown after Puck threatened her and it was kind of hilarious to see her freak out while a topless Aneesa just stood there with the biggest WTF face LOL 

Forward to 1:08-7:30

The conversation between Ellen and Dan will always crack me up! 

Ellen: I just went up there and asked if I could switch scissors and he told me that he was going to KICK MY *** if I don't beat it! 

Dan: What did he say exactly? 

Ellen: "Better get outta here or else I'm gonna kick your ***!" And everyone's just sitting there like HA HA! 

Dan (confessional): "The sky is gonna fall, the world is coming to an end! Ellen's life has been threatened." 

You know the Ellen and Puck rivalry was amazing because everyone in the house was talking about it. There was even a divide between some of the boys and girls. Ellen and a few of her friends even refused to attend Puck's wedding because of what happened. Ellen stated: "I don't feel bad about missing his wedding because you know what? Had I had a wedding, I wouldn't want him there either!" Hahaha Ellen was one of the biggest drama queens on this show but she was incredibly entertaining. Her facial expressions, the way she bashed cast members, she was like an "Of Love" character that could have been on I Love Money. Same with Puck! A few episodes later, Ellen pulled a controversial move and was part of the inner circle that voted Rachel R. off and Puck yelled out "You're really gross Ellen!" while Ellen had the biggest stank look on her face lmaoooo the golden era rivalries were ******* everything! 

The Winner: This is the hardest decision so far....Puck ended up leaving the show because his wife, Betty, and child were detained in Jamaica for a few days since Betty was not a U.S. citizen. It's funny looking at old Challenge episodes when the cast members were allowed to bring their children and significant others hahaha anyways, Puck had a complete freak out and ran out the house with a ******* MACHETE! When he left the show, Ellen celebrated, continued kicking *** in the challenges and made it to the final three. However, Puck still managed to get under Ellen's skin and caused her to have a meltdown while he was just chillin', giving no ***** so I would say the winner is Puck!

20. Coral vs. Evelyn - The Gauntlet 3 

Coral came into The Gauntlet 3 with a bunch of newer cast members that were out to get her. I guess they hated how she was undefeated and wanted to have some kind of recognition for going against the Challenge queen. Their rivalry started off in the very first mission when Evelyn stated that Coral was afraid of going against Johanna in their heat which was just......***** why the **** would Coral be scared of Johanna of all people????? So Coral went off on Evelyn for talking about her, which caused Evelyn to DESPISE Coral throughout the season. Evelyn constantly bashed Coral in interviews and aligned with the other awful veteran guys to send Coral into the gauntlet. Their decision was just stupid since Coral was one of their best players on the team and they just USED her to get rid of Beth in a previous gauntlet. Evelyn hated Coral so much that she was willing to go into the gauntlet to take her out. Both teams had a plan. The Veterans threw the mission while the Rookies voted in Evelyn. The Veterans were going to pit Coral against Evelyn. That would've been an awesome elimination round! But the joke was on the Veterans. Coral basically was like "**** you guys, I'm out. I'm not doing your dirty work." and quit the show. At the reunion, Coral verbally destroyed Evelyn and exposed her for being fake. Coral mentioned how she wanted to quit a week before and Evelyn ended up convincing her to stay.....which was really weird since Evelyn kept talking about how she wanted Coral to go home. I know I'm being biased here since I'm a Coral fan but I really think she owned Evelyn lol 

The Winner: Coral! Yeah, I know she quit and Evelyn made it to the finals. But karma came back to Evelyn and the other veterans. They ended up losing while Coral was probably laughing her *** off at home when the finale aired. Plus, anyone who watched the reunion, knows that Coral just destroyed Evelyn and the other Veteran guys there ***** her and Katie owned that shit. I remember a user on here posted that he/she attended the reunion and said Evelyn, Evan and Kenny were completely SILENT for hours while Coral and Katie made that reunion their *****. Evelyn bashed Coral a lot in her interviews but never said anything to Coral in the house, which makes her the loser in my eyes. 

The Gauntlet 3 was a horrible season but the reunion was everything because of Coral and Katie I'm watching the ending right now and Coral's final words to Evelyn basically reaffirms that she's the winner: 

Evelyn: Coral, if you had such a problem with me, you should have stuck around and faced me in the gauntlet.

Coral: I didn't have a problem with you until I saw the show. 

Evelyn: Why did you tell me you were gonna send me home?

Coral: I didn't tell you I was gonna send you home, first of all. 

Evelyn: Yes you did.

Coral: And second of all, if that was such a big deal to you, you should've came to me and said something instead of being my "friend" in my face and going behind my back in interviews. Everything I said about you, I said to you, you did not give me the same courtesy.  

Ct and bananas got to be high on the list, they had beef or a competitive rivalry on every challenge:

Duel: Ct called that Bananas was going in.

Inferno 3 : Bananas was giving comments when CT punched Davis

Gauntlet 3: CT wanted Bananas in the elimination, which resulted in them arguing and Bananas getting eliminated

Cutthroat: CT wears Bananas like a backpack, Bananas gets eliminated

Rivals: Bananas hates CT, CT smashes Bananas into a wall but still gets eliminated

Exes: working together, but Bananas beats CT in the final.

Rivals 2 : They argue when they reach the final, Ct beats bananas in a final

Free agents: Bananas beats CT in a puzzle

The Averey/Nia alliance was everything though (= I do think that they should have been on Rivals 2 back when they despised each other. They would've been such a great team! And I wish Jordan/Nia were a team on Exes 2. 

Edit: Actually I'm kind of glad they weren't since Jordan voting in Nia resulted in one of the most entertaining/best female deliberation screaming matches.

You know reading these things makes me think of how bad the actual Rival seasons were in terms of the rivalries. That format would've been so much better had they done it back in the golden era.
