Behind the Screen: Twilight Humor

The reality TV landscape has never been more crowded or more diverse. From dating shows to competition series to docusoaps, networks and streamers are betting big on unscripted content.

What sets the great shows apart is their ability to create genuine moments — the kind of unscripted drama that no writer's room could manufacture. That's what keeps fans coming back.

If you have seen one Twilight fan, you have seen them all...

A snippet from the Wall Street Journal Review pretty much sums my feelings up: Attention, all 13-year-old female readers of this newspaper: Run, do not walk, to the nearest multiplex playing "Twilight," the screen version of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling potboiler about a principled vampire and the teenage girl who loves him. Others needn't run. Or walk.

You're too much Bacchus! Do you know that?

I just had a chance to watch the full video. I'm not going to lie. I'm laughing hysterically. I think this girl and I could be great friends. "I'll say it baby. I'll say anything you want". At times she sounds a bit like Linda Blair's Exorcist. The horse sound she makes toward the middle is classic. Come on B. You know there's something out there that makes you squeal like that. ;)

*sigh* no that's not necessary. :D

Yes Bacchus. Please enlighten us. What exactly would this "expansion" entail?

Twilight Sucks... [Rhymes with Rick. Also a synonym for Jason Mesnick.]

The person sitting across from me keeps asking what I'm smiling about. :). If she only knew all the replies going through my mind right now, she'd probably be smiling too. Ha. I'll be a good girl and pretend I have no idea what you are referring to.

Great review of the series... TWILIGHT SUCKS...AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY Written by Phoenix native Stephenie Meyer, the popularity of the young-adult series comprised of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and the newly-released Breaking Dawn has reached critical mass. With a Twilight film adaptation coming to theaters this winter and an opening day’s sales of 1.3 million books for her latest installment, Meyer can be left with no doubt of her success. From a first-time novelist to a mainstay on the best sellers list, she has risen through the ranks like a veritable juggernaut. But why? To figure out why the books were inspiring legions of fans and a dozen fan-sites (including the recently hacked Twilight Lexicon), I read the books myself to see what’s what. To put it simply, dear reader, I was horrified. Not just by the sickeningly purple prose or the lack of general writing quality, but the books themselves are insulting on every level-as a woman, as a teenager, as a literature student, and as a graduate of the Harry Potter craze. What’s worse is that so few seem to realize it. more...

User image "The script was forced on me. It was in a stack of studio movies of 'smart options' for Kristen. I thought, this is crap, you’re going to present a completely ideological idea of love to 11-year-olds and that’s so not right. You’re setting them up for total disappointment."

Kristen Stewart is making a lot of money off of this film. If she doesn't like it.. she can quit. She's not very gracious and I'm starting to dislike her immensely. I've always thought this book shouldnt have been marketed toward younger audiences anyway. Any intelligent adult who has read the latter books in the series would agree. However, the great thing about fiction is that it's FICTION.. It's Fantasy... It's about vampires for goodness sake. VAMPIRES. Anyone who takes any of it to heart is obviously unstable and should probably seek treatment immediately. We enjoy this book for the same reason some people enjoy ******** jokes. It may not be a masterful work of art... but it makes us smile. For whatever reason, it makes me smile. That's good enough. Kristen Stewart can*******.
