Behind the Screen: Tila Tequila spin-off That's Amore debuts tonight

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Tila Tequila spin-off That's Amore debuts tonight

A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila loser Domenico Nesci gets another chance at trying to find reality TV love when MTV debuts his spin-off series That's Amore tonight at 10 p.m. ET. On the show, 15 women will compete for his affections, "embarking on a romantic adventure of a lifetime that could take them all the way to Italy," according to MTV. He'll be assisted by Ashley, a fellow A Shot of Love alum; MTV says Ashley "will literally sort through all the ***** and butts at Domenico's disposal and hopefully find the perfect companion for his best bud." Domenico says the experience was emotional for him. "I was like a little baby crying. I went through a lot of emotional things. Looking for love, it's important. You don't want to make a mistake," he told the New York Daily News. Why do the show? "I thought that I'm single, and that I need a woman in my life. With Tila Tequila, I realized that you can meet nice people even through reality TV," he said. "On that show, it was a little bit about how an immigrant can feel uncomfortable sometimes in a new country, and that 'That's Amore,' premiering tomorrow night at 10, is based on love." Clearly, with two reality show appearances and that plug folded into his answer, he understands how things work in America. [ via RealityBlurred ]
