Behind the Screen: Survivor China: Ep. 1505 - Love Is In The Air

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I didn't care for Aaron that much so I wasn't sad to see him go especially over James. If that was my choice I'd go for Aaron too, but the entire scenario just left a bad taste in my mouth and I hope ...

Survivor China: Ep. 1505 - Love Is In The Air

I was a little distracted this week while Survivor was on (busy installing software on my laptop) and I only watched passively, unlike my normal screaming at TV self. I was not a big fan of the plan that Peih-Gee and company pulled off. I just think that people should play to win and even though this might help their cause, it was just dirty and counter productive. If I was a producer on survivor and the cast started to pull stuff like that I'd push the merge as long as possible just to allow more bonding to take place within the new tribes. Not that it really matters. This player swap was bound to garner the results that we are seeing now. Call it a mini merge. Two people from somewhere else merged into two larger tribes. The only smart play is to get rid of them. As usual we are beginning to be left with the absolute worst survivors. Such is the standard that was set a long time ago with this show and continues. Survivor is designed for the weak to survive while the strong threats, are picked off early. This is backdooring in its most basic form before individual immunity is available, and it sucks! As only Dani could say, "THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!! -UGH!"

When I thought that it was James that was getting the boot I was extremely pissed about the plan to throw the competition. I don't like when they do that...throw comps...it just reeks of bad sportsmanship in my book. And plain stupid. You can't throw away any chance you have of winning a comp in this game, especially if you are on the losing side most of the time. I didn't care for Aaron that much so I wasn't sad to see him go especially over James.

If that was my choice I'd go for Aaron too, but the entire scenario just left a bad taste in my mouth and I hope it comes back to bite Peih-Gee!
