Behind the Screen: Survivor: Blood vs. Water II (San Juan del Sur) - Spoil

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion โ€” with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia โ€” speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I really hope it's the twist. I think it will bring an all new aspect to the jury phase of the game. Way better concept than the special idol. I kind of wish at this point they would do away with idols. I'm over people having an advantage.

Nothing new as of right now. An interesting tidbit about a revealed cast member though, apparently Reed is Clay Aiken's ex-boyfriend. This season is looking pretty recruit-heavy (they could be applicants, who knows, but it seems too sketchy) so far. A Broadway/mactor couple, a stunt-cast TAR pair, and a model and his little brother. Exciting. If you go on youtube and look up "instantalliance" you can find some great applicants for this season, my personal favorite being Leslie/Yoshimi (who unfortunately are not on).
Fresh Meat#64
If we made it through Colton, then we can make it through anything, haha. I'll still have preseason favorites, though. It's fun to see how off you can be at times like J'Tia and Tony (I thought he'd be voted off pretty quickly).

The twins are 2 loud super annoying coltons
auldx#66
I don't see how bringing on the Twinnies- of all people would bring up ratings. No one liked them on TAR. But whatever. Hopefully they're off soon. And on different tribes so I don't have to hear the word Twinnie 1000x an episode

There's about 9 or 10 days of filming left, once the known cast members get back on social media the others should be revealed through friend requests/follows.

If there were 9-10 days left wouldn't there only be one merge color?

Yes, a picture showing a different view of those ramps has been in circulation for a few weeks. It's likely a pre-merge challenge. I'm betting the merge buff color is red.

For anyone that cares, today is day 39 (what I'd give to be sitting on that beach right now preparing my pitch to the jury, haha!). More cast spoilers should start popping up this weekend/next week.

One-half of everyone's favorite pair is back on twitter ;) She doesn't look too emaciated, hopefully she wasn't a pre-merge boot! Blood vs Water with all newbies is the one season where you'd think CBS would cast as many applicants as possible. It's looking like this will be Fiji 2.0... There is a rumor going around about the evacuated pair. It was allegedly a pair of sisters and evidence points to the one of them potentially being on Season 30 (the one that was medically cleared of course), which begins filming next week.

I didn't know they filmed seasons one right after the other. I'm glad that they are giving a chance to the girl that was evacuated

Does anyone know when are the trailers usually released?

Old seasons used to film months in-between, since Samoa & HvV they started filming them back-to-back in the same location 3-4 weeks apart. It's cheaper that way (part of the reason Survivor has lasted so long is because of how cheap it is to make). Corinne said when she filmed Caramoan, there was still rice in the sand from when Philippines filmed a few weeks before!

The cast will be revealed mid-late August on cbs.com and Entertainment Weekly; Jeff's cast assessments, cast interviews, and such will go up on the SurvivorOnCBS youtube page the same day :) Survivor doesn't get legit trailers like The Challenge, but promos should start the same week. Blood vs Water had an awesome promo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI9Ih58yVVk

Ohh, I though they film one season on summer and the other one around november. It's better this way for costs, but it must be so hard for the contestants of the seasons that air in spring the waitto find out who won the season. They must wait until may to know (I guess they talk between them and know beforehand who won).

Do we know for a fact they're recruits? Frankie of all people is a genuine BB fan so I don't think it's fair to judge based on appearence/fame. Besides, recruits gave us Parvati and other greats so it doesn't mean it's all bad.

I won't judge until I see the season.

Frankie applied for Survivor and was cast for BB, I do know that. Believe it or not, Parvati was actually an applicant (for TAR, but still). You're right, we don't know if they're recruits, but they do seem to fit the bill (models, broadway actors, former pro-athletes). I think I remember reading that Drew was recruited for Cagayan, but they decided to drop him. Like always, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

That's true, but Survivor and BB are very similar. Main difference is one is more physically demanding and one is more mental. This cast doesn't look too great (the Asian sisters seemed like they would've been interesting), but I wasn't too crazy about the Cagayan cast either.

I have tried watching Big Brother, but it doesn't hook me like Survivor and the challenges do. Same with The Amazing Race.

While it does vary, It's actually just 2 weeks between seasons. Can't be bothered to find the video, but it was explicitly stated that there was two weeks between the 1st day of Heroes vs. Villains and Day 39 of Samoa.

Good! It was originally slated to be one hour. Not that it matters for me, I have class when it comes on this semester... In other news, this seasons buffs will be revealed a week from Wednesday and the cast a week later! Here's another cast member, but there's confusion on who his partner is (though it's likely his dad): Wes Nale 6414

Are you by any chance talking about Drew From Big Brother 5 or someone else?
