Behind the Screen: Summit on the Summit: Killmanjaro

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Did anyone else watch this the other day? While I thought it to be a good cause, the drama was a little over the top. I mean, Bruno Brunod of Italy managed to reach Uhuru Peak in just 5 hours 38 minutes and 40 seconds. It is not like they were trying to get up K2, but from the editing it looked like they were on the edge of death, lol. Oh...
On 21 January 2008 Keats Boyd from Los Angeles successfully hauled his seven-year-old body to the very summit of Africa's Highest Mountain - and in doing so, has become the youngest person ever to reach the top of Kilimanjaro
