Behind the Screen: Retro TV Shows

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I would love if they brought back Rescue 911 and the original Unsolved Mysteries... That show scared the **** out of me, especially the paranormal segments!

Oh my GOSH I completely forgot about Rescue 911. I used to love that show.

The opening sequence with the helicopter!!! hahaha and the 911 calls on the bottom of the screen! Classic!

Rescue 911 used to scare me too! My parents used to get pissed because I'd want to watch it with them and then be too scared to go to sleep. I can hear the music in my head right now...

I just talked about Rescue911 the other day with a friend! I loved that show. Unfortunately, I do have a slight fear of escalators now because of the episode where the boy got his pants caught and his leg got sucked into the escalator! Eeek!

I'm sorry, but anything that used to be on the real Nick @ Nite from a decade ago, and the real TVLand of the same era is amazing: The Facts of Life, The Cosby Show, Three's Company, The Flip Wilson Show, the Lucille Ball shows, The Carol Burnett Show, the list is endless. A show that debuted in 2002 is hardly considered a 'classic.' What sucks even further is that classic game shows like Match Game, Card Sharks and Family Feud are on the wane on Game Show Network...er..."GSN," ~my bad.~ ******* Press Your Luck doesn't even come on anymore, and that's the best game show in the world to me! Don't even get me started on what's become of "Nick"...

All the 90s Nick shows, The Fox drama Reunion, The Famous Jett Jackson, So Weird, The Jersey, Boy Meets World, The Torkelsons and In a Heartbeat. OMG Who Remembers Flash Forward? With Becca and Tucker??? This is why vevmo is the best, because I'm obsessed with television, and none of my friends understand. lol. A little reminder: YouTube - Flash Forward

Famous Jett Jackson X So Weird XX The Jersey ??? All the 90s Nick shows DING-DING-DING! Let's see, there's Double Dare, Family Double Dare, Celebrity Double Dare, Super Special Double Dare and Super Sloppy Double Dare. It's like Baskin Robbins! Blue Barracudas FTW, btw.

I loved the Famous Jett Jackson but some of those other ones like Torklesons and Flash Forward I despised cause they were so repetitive. JJ nice Legends of the Hidden Temple reference. I was always a Silver Monkeys fan myself.

I now remember being bored out of my mind watching Flash Forward, and I'm emphasizing now because the show was just that forgettable. As for Legends, the glow-in-the-dark painting and the Temple Guards used to scare the **** out of me!

I see where you're coming from because they always came out from nowhere like a horror movie. No matter how far you made it into the game there was always a surprise one.

Did anyone saw the Toxic Avenger back in the 80s, i just saw it on G4 and it was funny :D not sure if it was a tv movie or an actual movie.

I actually used to have this channel on my DISH network that still played Legends of the Hidden Temple, and I mean in marathons. It played some of those classics all the time and I must admit I still watched, but unfortunately it was removed last year :( I also really loved Bug Juice :)

All your awesome fav retro Nick shows are back... if you have Teen Nick.
Beginning this fall, a block of throwback-tastic programming on TeenNick called "The '90s Are All That" will start airing some of the best old Nickelodeon shows from midnight to 2 a.m. Pretty excellent news to start your Thursday, right? The shows planned for the two-hour block of retro '90s programming include: "The Adventures of Pete and Pete," "Clarissa Explains It All," "The Amanda Bynes Show" and, yes, "All That." Well played, Nickelodeon. It'll be like the '90s all over again, the only change being that now Kenan dresses up like women on "SNL." Nothing else has changed. The new lineup is a response to enthusiasm for the old shows on Facebook and other social media sites. That's the power of Facebook. How else do you think National Bacon Day began? Psyched as we are for the old shows to return, we can't help but long for some of our other favorites like "Salute Your Shorts" and "Hey Dude." Hopefully those shows and maybe some episodes of "Doug" or "Legends of the Hidden Temple" (Olmec!) will find their way into the block. Tell us in the comments which other shows you would most like to see back on Nick. And then go get a Petunia tattoo to celebrate this excellent news.

What is Teen Nick? Ugh that is such a scam making 20 variations of the original channel and putting them on satellite. Why can't they have it on regular Nickelodeon? I'm tired of 50 Nanny episodes after midnight...
