Behind the Screen: The Real World: Portland - Heartbreak Hotel

The reality TV landscape has never been more crowded or more diverse. From dating shows to competition series to docusoaps, networks and streamers are betting big on unscripted content.

What sets the great shows apart is their ability to create genuine moments — the kind of unscripted drama that no writer's room could manufacture. That's what keeps fans coming back.

Damn, Ana, that's a lot of stuff to be packing up.... Aww to Averey's confessional
rwrrfan1#65
Ana just wants to go home because of her boyfriend -_-
thenewrock#66
That Jessica girl is crazy too. At least Nia is openly crazy, those other 3 girls are secretly crazy. lol Secret Crazy is worst.
wutzrenzi#67
Wow, so Ana' possibly leaving may cause the roommates to reconcile (for a short period of time, obviously). An interesting turn in this episode.

Ana tried out for Real World TWO times and was a finalist TWICE. She was pretty much dying to be on the show and now loo.. **** like this ****** me off.
ItalianBeats#69
Okay, so is Jordan like in hiding now... Nevermind, he's ******* the stools
Calinks#70
So I'm guessing Jordan got shot in that first 15 minutes I missed?
TDMEL52#71
so is Nia going to apoligize to Jordan now too??
ItalianBeats#72
And I called it....Ana is not leaving.
YvanEhtNioj#73
Damn, i thought she was going gooonnneee

I was excited when Nia said they only had 3 weeks left...because that means the Challenge is right around the corner. I cant take anymore of this RW season...even though its been significantly better than the past 2 seasons.

Gahh I can't wait for The Challenge! :)

IMO...with the exception of the Back to Vegas season...every RW has sucked since Austin.

I can't imagine that Ana is still with her boyfriend....I mean, holy ****.

Yikes, Jess is important next episode. Here comes a dip in the ratings. No one cares about her.

50 Shades? No, probably Kama Sutra.
wutzrenzi#82
Good episode for me. The first half was awkward to watch, esp. because of the editing but overall I liked it.

Heh, it's funny how subjective things are. I would pretty much rank every season of TRW (barring a few) above Austin. Anyways, yeah that is certainly NOT a healthy relationship. Yikes.

Don't you mean INCLUDING Austin? I don't know what kind of Relationship Ana and her boyfriend has but it's not a good one. They need to break up.
RealCynic#85
So I probably won't be able to see this episode because of the weather screwing with my television. But sounds like Bird's having a breakdown. Dang, these females are cray cray! Doesn't sound like I'm missing much though.
wutzrenzi#86
Listening to Ana on afterbuzz, she's breaking down what really happened tonight. I think those that have watch the episode get the idea of what the Mark/Ana drama was about. Editing blows man, haha.
KevinW#87
Lol this cast is so lame dude.
CherryPie#88
Was the part where they made Daisy talk really necessary? Wow Nia, cheese, ham and ranch though? I hate pets and even I know it's unhealthy. Wow... Mark. is. HOT! If she says "my boyfriend" again... Doesn't he have a name? Why is everyone so surprised? Nia's already shown that she's a good friend The afterbuzz show was great an informative. I loved how Ana called them out on afterbuzz, cause they always trash talk everyone and then their guests never say anything. Wutrenzi, you're right, editing does blow. They make it seem like Ana's dramatic and irrational, reminds me of when Byron visited Alex last season.
KevinW#89
Just watched Afterbuzz. I will say I really like that Ana called them out. I wasn't expecting that but I also don't like how Ana wasn't completely upfront and honest while on the show. This is another huge problem with recent seasons, too many people are hiding things and not being honest. I'm not saying going on Real World means you have to literally go through your entire life story and tell us every single little detail of what you've been through but way too many people come on now and expect to reveal little to nothing about themselves. It's annoying, signing up for The Real World you should know what you're getting yourself into. But I like at least on Afterbuzz she was "real".

How could you forget Hollywood? Also, I thought Back to New Orleans was an awesome season. The casting team has really been sucking the past few years. The last three seasons has one or two people willing to get in fights and the rest of the cast staying out of the drama.

IA, Back To New Orleans was a pretty good season. Same with Hollywood. The only bad seasons within the last couple years has been the last 3.
