Behind the Screen: The Real World: Generic Thread

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Just a quick note. Instead of starting new threads, lets just dump all the generic Real World stuff in here...

I'd enjoy Toronto. but ever since the pre-cancun rumors I'd love to see a San Juan season...

Debut Album ·

So where would you like to see The Real World be held at for the next few seasons? For me It would be Atlanta, Houstin, and somewhere tropical and sunny like Key West, San Diego, and Cancun. How about you all?

I'd enjoy Toronto... but ever since the pre-cancun rumors I'd love to see a San Juan season!

When will people start figuring how where season 24 will be filmed?

I would love to see a Portland season. Also, I personally would prefer a Whistler, Canada season over a Toronto season. Whistler village is an awesome place with lots of great scenery and quite a few bars the roommates could frequent.

Atlanta is long overdue. I'm from North Carolina and I would like to see one in Charlotte as well.

I would love to see a Real World Pittsburgh. Or one in Canada. I know this is a long shot but does anyone know when they will announce where Season 24 is airing?

Welcome to Vevmo! I want Atlanta to be a real world city soon too, but I don't think that will anytime soon, because the Mayor was against it.

I can see a Real World Tempe on the list for a late fall/winter production schedule. It is a party town, in the desert with lots of bars plenty of things to do (not to mention BMP seems to love the ASU type, seemingly filling out the cast with them every year.)

I wouldn't mind seeing them do a RW-New Jersey season. I will be happy as long as they keep on renewing the contract for a long time.

I thought that as a possible location after DC as well...definitely somewhere in the South where the weather doesn't suck is less seasonal.

Somewhere with snow would be really cool. Just as something different. This is mostly just because I'm from the area, but I'd love to see another season in Massachusetts, down the cape or the Western side. Though I doubt it will happen because there really aren't any other cities I can see them doing a season in, other than maybe another one in Boston.

RW: Milan, RW: Baltimore, and RW: Phoenix. These would be great. But I wish they would do a "Back To Miami" season.
saintandsail#14
Denver surprised me. It just seems to me there were so many cities they hadn't, and somewhat still haven't, done that I would have thought they would do before it.
Binary Solo#15
In my wildest fantasies I would love to RW: Rome Cape Town Vancover Toronto Hong Kong Houston Atlanta Amsterdam Berlin
Lotus#16
The should've done a Minneapolis season years ago. I remember that fan fiction that was out on Tubescan and boy was it good.
saintandsail#17
The only problem I can see with them doing a season in a snowy area would be the fact that they would be driving, and it is very possible that the roommates have had little to no experience driving in those conditions, which can be very dangerous. Of course, I may just be over thinking this as well.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but tomorrow they are showing the real world secrets revealed special again at 6:30. I'm guessing its the one they played before Brooklyn aired that Wes hosted.

RW: Baltimore would suck tremendously. It's just not an exciting city at all...it doesn't really have anything to offer. Federal Hill is fun for bars and the PowerPlant Live is a good club, but other than that there's not a huge amount of nightlife--honestly, a Friday night in Federal Hill was exactly like a Friday night on Route 1 at the University of Maryland. I wouldn't expect a Baltimore season for awhile, at least until the city gets its act together. I would love to see an Atlanta season, though. I really think it's long overdue.

There's a better chance they would do Real World Savannah before they do Real World Atlanta, since Atlanta's mayor won't allowed them to do it.

This has been covered in the past, but the mayor not allowing The Real World to be filmed in Atlanta is an urban legend.

So I was watching a couple of RW Austin episodes yesterday and I was JW what happened to Danny that made him so unlikeable on the challenges? I didn't remember much from his season because I thought it was boring but he was one of the more likeable ones on the show. Its crazy how your view of a cast member can change from one show to another.

Has it become known yet when Season 24 casting officially begins? I know they accept tapes on a rolling basis, but I feel as though there has to be a time when they actually start casting, similar to a job interview. You know you're going to need employees soon, but you don't really consider too many of the applications until the hiring season hits, and the applications you receive at that time are those that are closely considered. At least that's how it goes where I work.. and I'm part of the hiring team. ;)

I stopped liking him on Inferno III. I was surprised he was on the BA team, but then I remember him being a **** to a lot of people. Then again I don't really remember a lot of that season, but I know I didn't mind him on his RW seasor or on his one episode of FM. Plus didn't he chew out Johanna for no reason on Gauntlet III?

This is all I remember from I3. 1. CT leaving for hitting Davis 2. Danny losing to Davis 3. Jenn constantly getting sent to the Inferno 4. Susie/Cara being annoying. 5. Paula being a good competitor 6. Aneesa and Ev fighting that one episode 7. Derrick and Tonya getting their first win. 8. Kenny talking about how beautiful he is 9. The Grape Smash challenge. Everything else is a blur. I watched like 5 episodes the other day and I immediately remembered that that the three people from that season I liked the most were Danny, Johanna, and Wes. I didn't like Danny going into Gauntlet 3 but I can't remember why lol. I do remember Nedermeyer calling him out on the reunion saying he thought he was Ben Affleck now, *****.

I liked Danny on Austin. He seemed like a genuine guy and I felt for him after his mother's passing... ...then came the Austin reunion and then went my like for Danny. He thought he was like Brad Pitt or something but really he was just so obnoxious and he and Melinda were one spray tan away from looking like oompa loompas. I haven't liked him since. And Melinda was always kinda meh to me. Actually, besides Johanna, I couldn't stand the entire Austin cast for a period. I have grown to like Wes though after the Duel. Nehemiah and Danny are the worst offenders of the bunch, can't stand them. Melinda and Rachel are just kind of annoying to me from what I've seen. There's really nothing to say about Lacey. Johanna isn't even a favorite of mine, I just like her. Plus, it doesn't hurt that she's a hottie. So overall, not of a fan of the cast or the season.
