Behind the Screen: Real World DC: Sisterhood and Brotherly Love

The reality TV landscape has never been more crowded or more diverse. From dating shows to competition series to docusoaps, networks and streamers are betting big on unscripted content.

What sets the great shows apart is their ability to create genuine moments — the kind of unscripted drama that no writer's room could manufacture. That's what keeps fans coming back.

How many episodes left in this season?

I was unsure as well because around episode 11 they said 3 episodes left and I was thinking that can't be right. But then I just thought they were including the TSTSS (Also airing tonight) or the reunion in the episode count.

Another thing...my DVR shows that after it airs tonight, it will not air again until next Wednesday. Guess they are not getting replay value in repeats during the week...

The probably realize we're all working.

Tanner is hot!

Tanner seems like a good guy. That aside, I am wondering how open the relationship is...and if things will come out. Cool if it is open. Not so cool if it is not.

The S*** They Should Have show is on after this episode right? I'm hoping I'll enjoy that more than I have alot of this season, since I haven't been paying any attention to the dailies and I usually do. EDIT: Nevermind.. I didn't see that thread

I'm surprised to see that TSTSHS is airing tonight and not after the finale episode like usual. And is it just me, or did MTV not promote the airing of TSTSHS AT ALL??! I saw not even one commercial for it! :/

Almost half hour into the show and I feel like everyone has gotten equal airtime. This is just proves that it works better with 7 people.

I've gotta say, this episode has actually been keeping me in, and I haven't felt like this for this season since the first episode! This ep. is def. one of the few good ones this season.

Totally agree with TO714 - This has been one of the most meaningful - substance filled episodes since Ryan (Brooklyn) going to war. I have really enjoyed this episode*

Loved the juxtaposition between the wedding and Mike & Tanner at the march for equality. Such a great episode so far!

Andrew is also more tolerable this episode because he's not so goofy. I love this episode. The flow is so much better with 7.

Poor Tanner. :(

That is so sad. What his mom was saying is, "You are going to be on TV 'as gay' and thus we have to move because we will be shunned..." I am way too young to understand the intolerance of the 60's, but definitely I am getting a taste of it recently with the lunatic fringe seemingly so concerned about government not intruding on rights, while they intrude on the rights of their neighbors and make their lives a living hell because of individual belief. The hypocrisy is maddening.

This is such a powerful, amazing episode..I have tears in my eyes.

Yeah, it is so sad and frustrating and upsetting. I love that Tanner is actually honest about himself and isn't lying to himself just to please his small-minded mother. She might not agree with the way he is, but he did the right thing by not being afraid to be himself and by proclaiming his homosexuality and admitting to having a relationship with Mike. I don't doubt that it could have taken A LOT from him to be open and honest to not only himself but especially to his mother. I think he's brave. And I love how the roommates can directly and indirectly relate to the situation w/ Mike and Tanner! Love it! And I'm starting to feel like it's a shame that this season is ending so soon and it's only just beginning to get better :/

Same here. Life is much too short to spend it hating others. Who cares what makes someone else happy? If Mike and Tanner are in love... Let them love.

TJ, you and I don't agree on much of late - but you nailed this one, haha.

This is kind of OT but when I was 14, my boyfriend dumped me because his parents found out I was black. I'm 21 now but this is just crazy. Tanner, you can come live with me!

You missed a really great episode! Try to make sure to catch it whenever you can because it is probably the best episode of the season thus far.
