Ditto on the welcome,Andrea. I'm looking forward to "meeting" Mike and Andrew, too...and rest of the cast. Andrew looks like he has a great sense of humor...without being the a prankster as in past RW...time will tell...depending on the edits of course.

He is from Thornton, Co. I had a class with him in High School. He went to Horizon High School. I think he was a year or two younger than me.. I graduated in 03.

I'm pretty sure that Adam Bouska (the photographer) messes with everyone's eyes in one way or another (if you look at other pictures) but yes, even so he does have pretty eyes. :)

You know when I was young and saw the Real World cast hot gay guys (Danny, Chris, Karamo) I used to think it was so cool to see an attractive gay guy represent for the gay community. Now it is old and played out. Then again almost everything about this show is old and played out.

I've got nothing to go on except what I have read here and seen on the promos, but I think Mike's story is going to be different. I don't expect that he is going to be portrayed as one who seeks to represent the gay community, so to speak. He seems like he will be dealing with his own distinctive issues. Regardless, what will be new about the bi or gay character of RW 23 (and all of the roommates for that matter) are the political dimensions that will compliment the standard social and sexual dimensions around sexual identity issues. When and where they are should make this season's handling of sexuality different...not the same old same old. Let's see what impact Mike's advocacy work at HRC and his participation in the march, etc. have

As reported here and elsewhere by Wiggy and as posted on Twitter by Mike himself, Mike now has a fan page on Facebook (link is below). Among other things, there is a discussion board where he seems to want to engage fans in dialog about the show, its issues, etc. At least until he is contractually allowed to be here (if he so chooses), that might be a good place to get his views and reactions directly for those who are interested. I'm not sure if I've seen all the previews, but I'm under the impression that he is pretty squarely a democrat (see his activist work for HRC the Energy Coalition). I also think that he would be more of a liberal Christian than anything else. We'll see when the season unfolds, but I think he self-identifies as ********, though he states on his fan page that he detests labels.

He seems to want gay marriage based off of that ad he did so on that solely, I would say he was liberal but he may hold more conservative views on other things. I can't wait for this season to unfold.

I guess I based what I posted upon the little religious clip. I guess it is bad of me being a Christian progressive to assume that he was a conservative. That said, it is interesting that they may have an alternative lifestyle Christian on the show.

Wait, isn't he ********, not gay?

I agree. On his FB an page, Mike invites a post-er he seems to know to name the church in DC where he worshiped. She did so and explained that it has a rainbow flag out front. It will be interesting to see if cams follow him there and if any housemates went with him. I bet Ashley did at least once.

I'm confused, is he ******** or gay? I've heard him being referred to as both so I'm wondering what he really is...

He likes girls and guys. He has had sex with both. I believe he is still interested in both. To me, that means ********, but when a male is said to be "bi" people will just call them gay. However, if a girl is "bi" she is "bi". It's a tricky double standard, which is probably why most people that have ******** tendencies hate labels.

I am far from an expert on the subject but it seems that gays reject bi guys as being gay but not willing to own up to it and bi women as likely the victims of bad men in their past. Go figure. Either way, I have always found it interesting that some Christians think their sins are somehow less than the sins of gays.

It really ****** me off when people think that all ******** men are gay and just confused. It's like, nobody cares when women are ********, since the majority of young women nowadays have done something sexual with another girl. But if I guy identifies as ******** they are just like "Oh, your gay and just don't know it yet". It's frustrating.

Same, it also ****** me off that people don't know the difference between ******** and pansexual.

******** people, yes like both genders, but they have one preference at a time. They either want a boyfriend or a girlfriend, but are open to either. Pansexual people don't care what the persons gender is at all. A lot of ********s are pansexual, they just never heard the term, or use ******** because it's more widely known.

Bi, Gay, Straight, Pansexual-whatever. Seeing that his concern is to NOT be defined by his sexuality, this trying to put a label on what he is is counterproductive to that.

That may be so, but seeing as he will always be labeled, I'd prefer it to be the correct one.
