Behind the Screen: Real World DC: Love Hits a Sour Note

The reality TV landscape has never been more crowded or more diverse. From dating shows to competition series to docusoaps, networks and streamers are betting big on unscripted content.

What sets the great shows apart is their ability to create genuine moments — the kind of unscripted drama that no writer's room could manufacture. That's what keeps fans coming back.

I have no idea what happens this episode. I think I missed the previews...

This episode is supposed to be more Josh-centered. Last week was the Ashley-Mike drama.

Well we got a Josh story, an Erika story, and a Ty Emily story.

I'm liking it so far.

Oh, great. More Emily and Ty flirting.

State of the union tonight? This is going to be a ratings fail.

I was watching the state of the union and chatting about, but now I am catching up. Doesn't seem like much happened beyond the "maybe" cheating stuff with Josh and Erika is going to sing, right?

Meh, that's what replays are for.

Yeah - and Ty and Emily flirted a bit. They're competitive with each other. Yada yada yada...you didn't miss much.

Erika has a nice voice. Better than 99.9% of the crap on American Idol this week. Too bad about the feedback in that clip.

BORED TO DEATH!! I hope none of these cast members are on Spring Break when I go in March. B-O-R-I-N-G
andrewsz1991#14
I think that's your own opinion. I actually think a lot of these people are great, and this is a pretty good episode so far.

Nothing really happened, but for some reason I am enjoying this episode. Maybe its because Emily and Ty aren't the main focus.

I agree, I really like Erika so far. I know theres a lot of Emily love around here but I really prefer Ashley, Callie, and Erika to Emily so far.

This episode is boring so far. Funny because I was wondering why they never showed Erika and Josh. I guess this is why lol. Although im kinda enjoying the Erika segment. Edit: Ty and Emily remind me of Alton and Irulan for some reason.

Emily needs to lay off.
Janette#18
okay maybe its just me but did this last part already happen on an earlier episode?? the one where callie calls an ex.

I agree. I started out liking Emily....but she has become increasingly annoying. If I here "im a free bird" one more time...
andrewsz1991#20
Yeah, it's really none of her and Ty's business. they can give advice but they keep telling her what to do with her life. Pretty messed up.

She irritates me more and more with each passing episode. She needs to leave Callie alone!

Agreed. People call ex's. It happens. Emily can't relate, yet berates and that is even sadder. :(

I feel like she's always in everyones business, and I see a lot of hypocrisy going on. Honestly, one of my friends said the other day that the "free bird" reminds them of someone who wants to have their cake and eat it too, kind of like someone who runs around like a **** but just says "I want to have fun". I am in no way calling her a ****, because she's not, but I just thought that was interesting.

That's how it seems to me -- like she's trying to justify her behavior and not come across like a *****. I don't know if I would consider her one for being so noncommittal with Ty, but I wonder who she is trying to convince?

I think that little tinge of raspiness worked wonders for her! She should go out for Idol.

Ty is really throwing the L word around already after like a month or half a month? That's pathetic.

LOL!
RockSteadyVybes#28
Yeah, Callie! Call that **** out.

And this is when the blogs start to come into play...

Oh ****! Ashley was reading wiggys twitter.

Josh is being extra ******* right now.
