The New Orleans Film Commission posting has been removed, which in my mind just confirms it further.

I want to see someone like Julie (RW1) cast again, and I think New Orleans would be the perfect place for it. Someone so naive but open-minded just held back by their background. My favorite episode from any show ever is when Julie (RW1) sleeps under the bridge with the homeless girl Darlene.

New Orleans is the best they could do? I just get more and more disappointed at the laziness that has taken over at BMP. N.O. again when other great cities like Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Phoenix, Portland and Atlanta have yet to host the show? Call me crazy but I am one of those that gets excited when a city I love or am curious about hosts the show, it's the entire reason I watched Cancun since I love it there. Of course ultimately the cast makes or breaks the season but the location is what originally gets me interested. I mean New Orleans can be a fun town but really other than Bourbon Street what else is there to do? Especially now after the hurricane, have any of you been back since? The city is rough & full of crime and isnt very nice at all, AND they already filmed a season there. If this is true I must say that I wont be interested at all in watching. Over the years my interest in the show has been seriously depleted so it takes a cool location for me to even want to watch the premiere. Sucks to say I may be skipping out on yet another season of the show, this is becoming a habit now

I went to New Orleans a couple months after Katrina and had a blast (is that bad?). I've been back two times since and had a great time. I have no problem with them returning to New Orleans. I don't like many choices BMP makes but this one I must say I'm excited about.

I like New Orleans. I will definitely be interested if they cover the effects of Katrina. Maybe they will cast a local?

Well I'll go ahead and say that I'm not excited about this one. At all. Maybe that'll change, but I think it's a crap decision when there are SO many more places people want to see that haven't been used before... Way to save a floundering series, BMP.

I was there in 2008 and had an amazing time. I was drunk for 3/4 of it, but still...great time. Then again a friend of mine went with his family last summer and they got their car windows smashed...but they were in a different part of town. I personally think there is tons going on in New Orleans...Mardi Gras, Jazz Week, amazing restaurants, casinos, museums, restaurants, riverboat rides, restaurants, the colleges in town...did I mention the food?

I thought it would've been better if it was in Vancouver because of the winter olympics but New Orleans is alright..

Vancouver's housing market skyrocketed because of the Olympics. There is no way that they would have been willing to rent or buy a house for 4 months.

See I'm on both sides of the fence on this one. On one hand, I am disappointed that they didn't pick a new location when some cities haven't had a season yet. It doesn't seem as a fresh of an idea as I think the RW name needs right now, almost like they have given up and are trying to pull people back just by trying to recreate the past. On the other hand, I think NOLA is a GREAT city, one of my favorite seasons from back in the day and I think it will be a whole different feel after Katrina. I think NOLA needs the attention MTV can give it and maybe bring to light the fact that even after all these years, nothing that much has changed. There are still many empty houses, many people left picking up the pieces and now we as a country have kind of forgotten about it and moved on without really putting it back together. But the great foundation of a vibrant, diverse, fun, cultural city with a lot to offer are still there. I'll wait to really make a judgment until it's certain and we have a cast, until we can really see what they are going for and where they want to take RW in the future.

This is interesting and unexpected. I do prefer newer cities/states to revisiting the same ones overall, but I don't mind every now and then when they do so. One of my favorites seasons is a revisit (Back to New York). And having a couple of the last few seasons going back to New York and California, when several seasons have been done in those states, it is nice that they are breaking out of that and revisiting another city/state. And of course there is interest in N.O. because of the aftermath of Katrina. And speaking of Vancouver, which led to Olympics talk, it might be cool if there is a season in a city that is going to host the Olympics if they can get the cast a job related to the Olympics.

I think a Back To New Orleans: Post Katrina season would be amazing. Infact... it may be the best idea they've had in awhile.

I'd also love it if, as someone suggested in this thread, the cast has a job geared towards helping citizens of N.O. or just the city in general recover more.

I'd love it if Drew Brees somehow showed up in the mix. Maybe the cast could work for the Saints and help NOLA in the process? I'd wet my pants.

Hopefully its call RW:French Quarter or something like that and I have strange feeling that there job will not let them partake in alot of Party like Cancun

I was thinking they might call it Real World: French Quarter - but then I thought again. I get the impression they want New Orleans in the title to play off the fact that they are going to be in that city (reality show in post Katrina Nola) and most people in the target demo probably have no idea what the French Quarter is...

I hate RW:B2NO, I like RW:NOLA better. I know, Randomn.

Add to the fact that Vancouver is one of the most naturally lovely cities I have ever seen. The place is amazing, hip, modern and contemporary. I spent so much time in Vancouver in the summer (the best time to be there) and I loved it. I still don't see why The Real World has been avoiding Canada. Montreal and Toronto would be two other excellent locales. I must say I am not happy about them going back to NO at all.

I think people are missing the point about why they are doing this season. 1. There will be a lot of partying 2. They will probably give them a legit job which will likely led to self-discovery for a cast member or two I will say when I went to the open casting call this year -- the type of people who were being asked to fill out more paperwork were very different than from RW23. They were not nearly as deep/interesting looking. It was very much pretty people -- over pumped bulky guys -- and big attitude individuals. The people who filled out the paperwork for RW23 were like the art school kids...it was a very different feeling, in general. So I imagine this will be a "Cancun"-style cast that they will give a more legit job (or at least have an episode where they do something involving Katrina...maybe not job related).

I'm hoping if they have a job this season, that it would be about helping to rebuild the city.

I think this is a great opportunity for them to help NOLA post-Katrina. The question is will they? Bolt, I miss Julie (RW1) as well. She was just awesome -- quick witted, intelligent, funny, innocnent/naive but willing to learn, playful but could be serious. Yet another reason why I really liked that very first cast of the show. I have never visited Vancouver but I have always wanted to. I think they could easily do a show in Vancouver, Toronto, or Montreal (especially during the Jazz Festival). There is a lot more culture in Canada than people realize. Just as there is in Arizona (which many people think of for few things besides our sports teams: Grand Canyon, OK Corral, and ASU.

I think this is the real deal. I've ruled out other options. I mean, they used the same ad! And the very same web address where the old ad was! Talk about being sloppy. Plus, MTV seems to love the ten year return theme...

Man, for a minute I thought this thread was to announce a New Orleans reunion much like Las Vegas. Now that would of been awesome! Anywho, the New Orleans season was my favorite by far so hopefully by bringing the Real World back to the city exciting things will come!

Do you think that it will be called Back to New Orleans or something else like Real World Louisiana?
