Production Favoring Cast Members?

I think production does favor people, and like certain cast members better than others, but they can't really show it. Puzzles do not really favor one person. Someone who is usually great at puzzles can just as easily get confused and frusterated as someone who sucks. There are games that can be unfair, but that's how the game goes. Someone can excel in one area and suck in another!

That is an interesting question. My own view is that the law does apply, but put two lawyers in a room and they will disagree on anything. Reference is made in the cast contract to the general constraints in the Act, so clearly Viacom believes some, if not all, of the law applies. [Actually, the Game Show Act is a set of regulations issued by the Federal Communications Commission, under Congressional direction.

Sorry if this has been addressed since you wrote it a few weeks ago... I just dont' want to forget to come back and ask this. I wasn't aware that the airdrops were fixed or that they weren't actually brought in by the cast. Could you elaborate on that either in a PM or on this thread?

At the time of The Island taping, there was an article about the show in the local island newspaper. A property owner located just up the beach from the location stated that the production crew came to his beach to retrieve a box that was dropped by air for the cameras to shoot. He stated that the real boxes were later towed out in the surf to a point where the cast could swim out and bring them in. These boxes were on black rubber rafts clearly visible in the video. The one dropped by plane was not on a raft. No crate of eggs is going to survive being dropped from an aircraft. It was laughable, given that the Army was the principle show sponsor.
