Behind the Screen: Notorious B.I.G. The Movie

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Now this definitely sounds promising but I hope it's good and not something that will ultimately do him a disservice. Still I am excited to check it out and silly LM, Tupac will play Tupac lol...

Notorious B.I.G. The Movie

LilysMom ·
The trailer for Notorious has finally hit the interweb. With Brooklyn rapper Gravy (née Jamal Woolard) playing Biggie and Derek Luke as P. Diddy, we can’t wait for this one. But will the film be a fitting legacy to one of the greatest rappers of all time? It’s hard to say from this teaser, which offers only a few glimpses of actual footage. Still, those glimpses are pretty awesome: Biggie as a little kid counting money? That pinstripe suit? Gold, Jerry, gold. On the other hand, the film is being released on Jan. 16, 2009 — historically a studio dumping ground. If it was really “sicker than your average,” wouldn’t Fox Searchlight drop it over Christmas? Only time will tell, but for now, the trailer holds us over after the jump.
Trailer to Notorious The Movie I for one am very happy to see this coming out and think it should be very interesting to watch. I wander how much of a role Tupac will play in the movie, and who is cast to play him?

It'll be interesting to see Mackie play the Tupac role. At first I thought it was crazy to have Derek Luke as P. Diddy but after seeing the previews, it doesnt seem like it will turn out bad. I love Naturi but her as Lil Kim???? Wow! And although A. Basset looks nothing like Biggies's real mom, I think she'll do great cuz' she's a great actor.

I can't wait for this movie to come out! Biggie is one of my favorite rappers and his music has had alot of influence on today's music, so I think the movie will be a hit! I think it would have been cool if they let Diddy play himself.
hotboih#12
Yeah it would be cool to have Diddy play his own role, but I don't think that would work out well. I'm sure he wouldn't want to potray himself the exact same way the producers have planned for the film.

I'm not really liking the guy who plays Diddy..

Wasn't the joke originally Mexico? Lol. I think Derek Luke will do a decent job as Diddy, he's not a bad actor. The film looks good judging by the previews. GO NATURI!

I think this is his first movie. I read in an article that Diddy said the actor who plays him(Derek Luke) did a great job and that he portrayed him well.
hotboih#16
Nope, this isn't Derek Luke's first film. He's been in several good movies over the past 6yrs or so.
GoldenWarrior#17
It looks like it will be a good movie and I definitely am gonna check it out....hopefully. I haven't been able to see a movie in a while.

Is he a good actor?

Yep he's a really good actor. Some good movies he has been in are "Antwone Fisher", "Catch a Fire", and "Friday Night Lights".

Cool thanks for the info!

Yeah he said that is who he would want to play him in his own movie...if a biopic was ever done of his life.

Plus this movie is made by BAD BOYS so I'm sure Diddy had some sort of say in who he would like to play his part, as I like to think. I may be wrong though.

I heard Biggie's son, CJ is playing a younger Biggie in the movie. He is also featured on a remix of "One More Chance" on the soundtrack. There's some great track on the soundtrack.

Yeah I have been looking for picture of CJ to see what he looks like, but I just can't seem to find one. I can wait until the movie comes out for that. I wonder if he has even half the skills that his father had...

I saw him in the trailer. I think he's a singer not sure if he's a rapper.

Oh wow, that was unexpected...I expected him to be all "hardcore" (well as hardcore as you can be having been raised with a silver spoon in your mouth)

I not sure if he raps or sings. I most likely think it's singing, because I heard he sings. I didn't expect him to be hardcore since he was brought up under the watchful eyes of Faith Evans and Voletta Wallace. But who knows? He can always be hardcore later on. Biggie started rapping when he was 17. CJ's only like 12 but maybe he'll grow up to be a big gangsta rapper lol.

He would be just about as gangsta as Bow Wow pretends to be, LOL.

I saw the preview for this and I could have sworn I saw Diddy play himself in present times (I guess later on in the movie?). And seriously, the woman playing Faith looks a hot mess. I met Faith Evans many years ago at Zo's Summer Grove (this thing we had like every year in Miami; basketball) and she was so pretty. I don't like the character matches for anyone in this flick except for Biggie. I am excited though - it's like when the Selena movie came out; it happened in "my time" so it was extremely interesting (and sad) to watch.
