Yes, and no. I don't really pay attention to any of the drafts.

I just started getting into the drafts a few years ago... I'm a hockey nut... though I'm more excited for free agency... can't wait to see the bad moves the Rangers make this year!!!

Like molds, I am big hockey fan but I don't pay much attention to any of the drafts either. When I find out who is signed to my teams then I check them out. Otherwise, I only become interested if I know someone going in, or they played at my college.

I got involved with the drafts once I started getting interested in our farm teams... I like to know who's down there for call ups!

Oh I know the Red Sox farm system pretty well, we tend to pride ourselves on it, but not so much with the other sports I follow. It's same thing there where I won't become really interested in a player until they are already in our system. If they are good enough I figure I would have heard about them already but sleeper players that sneak up and surprise you with their skills are always a nice find too.

Very true... I prob get so obsessed because I'm so desparate for anything Hockey all summer!

Same. The last draft I watched was the 08 NFL Draft when Jake Long went first overall. I usually just end up going to ESPN and looking at who got drafted from my school, if anyone. Wait tater, people actually get drafted from your school? That's a shocker :p

Once in a while we have good player or two come through ;) I usually just check ESPN also, it takes much less time.

I'm obssessive enough to have everything on my phone during the draft... I'm hearing a LOT of trade/draft moves this weekend... So it's sounding like it could be an interesting weekend... I'm also hearing that a Boston/Philly Ice Bowl at Fenway is pretty much a done deal.

Yup, yup! Which means I need to make sure I go back home this winter so I can go to the game :)

Big Day today! Free Agency begins!!! I'm waiting to see if the Rangers make some big deals today now that they created cap space last nite!!!

I think getting rid of Gomez was a bad idea for the Rangers...he's a great playmaker. Overpaid, but a hard worker. They need a primary scorer and if they can acquire Heatley, could be making steps in the right direction. They're keeping Hossa very tightlipped and it'll be interesting to see if he actually goes to market. I'm hoping that Detroit hangs on to him, even though he had a horrendous postseason. Sending him to LA would be pointless...they're not going to win a Cup any time soon. I expect news of his departure would be the biggest coming out of Detroit, since they don't really play the free market often.

Gomez just never clicked with anyone on the team so his play making skills weren't too helpful... for the price we were paying him I'd rather let him go... free up some space and let the kids play... I don't see how we could get heatley... because after losing Gomez we can't afford to lose Dubinsky if we're not getting a center back! Plus I'd rather keep Dubinsky... Now if we could unload Redden! haha I'm Shocked that Hossa went to Chicago for 12 years!! Chicago is gonna be very tight next year... especially if the cap drops as projected!

Can't say I've ever seen this before.

Wow, that was quite the shot. If only he was of NHL age, we'd draft him today!
Dandelion#17
That's awesome... finally someone who has a better shootout than Marek Malik! haha

The Penguins are off to a great start!! Tyler Kennedy is really coming into his own this season. Gonchar's injury will be tough to overcome, but with Letang and Goligoski our defense should continue to be a factor in our offense.

they are! but it's a marathon not a sprint! haha I'm thinking this might be the Sharks year... & that's coming from a Rangers fan! haha... we're off to a good start but I'm realistic! LOL

I think the Sharks gave up too much to get Heatley. The west is very hard to predict, I can't even fathom a guess as to who's gonna make it out. You have Henrik though, he's reliable. Fleury's starting to get to that reliable point *knock on wood*. If he comes full circle this season, I'm feeling repeat. Buffalo is suprising me though like crazy. I consider Buffalo one of the Pens' top rivals and they've been subpar the past few years, I like it when they're subpar lol.

yeah.... without Henrik keeping us in some of the season we'd be in really bad shape... at least this year were winning by more than one goal!!! haha Yeah Buffalo looks good... I know what you mean... that's how i feel about the Flyers... I think there gonna be a real hard team to beat this year... gonna be super physical! Yeah if Fleury comes around & makes himself one of the elite goaltenders.. they def have a good chance this year... it's hard with hockey... i mean look at last year... for awhile it didn't even look like the pens would make the playoffs...
molds13#23
Did anyone see that hit in the Flyers-Devils game? Fricking BRUTAL.
tatertots#25
Damn that was a cheap shot. Who elbows a guy in the face? Especially hard enough to knock him out and most likely break his nose or bust his head when he hit the ice by the looks of the blood on the ice. Open ice, after he scores a goal, totally off guard, not cool in my book. On a good note, NBC has shown two great games these past weekends. The Pens v Capitals game was especially good, like play-off level. One of these days I'll get a better sports package so I can actually watch my home teams again!
unamazing#27
This really didn't surprise me. Jeff Carter has done this a few times before, most notably agianst David Booth earlier in the season. Though there is a much worse shot by patrice Cormier in a world junior game in which resulted in him getting suspended for the year.
tatertots#28
Welcome back Savard!! Go Bruins!
molds13#29
I'm not watching the game because I'm convinced I'm bad luck this round...apparently so. Natural hat trick 10 minutes into the game? Seriously? Franzen, where have you been?
tatertots#30
Maybe you are a bad luck charm because things just got really interesting!
