Behind the Screen: Megan Wants a Millionaire

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I suppose I should rephrase that, I don't expect them to actually verbally respond to the situation for a multitude of reasons, it wouldn't remotely be to their benefit to do that. I also don't expect them to be named as respondents, I'm sure their legal eagles have iron clad contracts that protect them from these sorts of suits. When I said "response" I meant more in terms of whether they will move forward with Megan's show, whether they will continue to work with Sharon Osbourne, whether they will start being more prudent about protecting people on these reunion shows since they all seem to escalate in violence (though I suppose it would be naive to expect the show would assume that sort of ethical responsibility out of the goodness of their hearts).
Haha VH1 is sitting pretty. Fights = ratings = ca-CHING! So yeah...like V1 said, if they weren't implied in any way they'll probably move on and wait for the next round =)

Sorry, I forgot to take off my rose colored glasses this morning. . .damn this non-profit mentality of mine.

I was told a couple of months ago that VH-1 and 51 Minds gave their private approval for both the criminal and civil actions to proceed. They dropped Sharon and Riki and announced on Feb 26 the signing of Ricki Lake as the new headmistress for season three.

Thanks for the info V1man. I heard that Ricki Lake was taking over but I wasn't sure whether it was because Sharon didn't want to do it or they had dropped her and whether they would possibly continue to work with Sharon in some other capacity. I also wondered if Riki would still do the ROL reunion shows (since he pretty much cheered the whole thing on) but it would seem that relationship was terminated as well. Didn't know criminal charges were being filed as well.

I would love to see Ricki Lake do season 3! As for Meagan, I really enjoyed her on I Love Money, the other shows, not so much.

A criminal complaint was filed against Sharon, and was referred to the LA Country prosecutor's office. I believe the status there is still "pending review."

Trophy Wife has finished shooting. Someone in the cast told me it was great fun to be a part of the show. The show should have a late summer air date.

Me too! As long as there is no one previously rejected from an "of Love" show.... (I'm looking at you 12-Pack). :D

The cast requirement minimum was a net worth of $1M. I don't think 12-Pack qualified.
