Behind the Screen: Making the Band

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Danity Kane is doomed!! from Perez Hilton:
And Then There Were Two. Danity Kane Loses Another! Aubrey O'Day = out. D Woods=out. And now, Z100 in New York is reporting that Shannon has quit Danity Kane too. Shannon is described as the nice, married, quiet one. She was allegedly 'tired of the drama, cat fights and Diddy.' What's the next move, Dids? Do y'all even care?

I will not be surprised if this is true. I think Diddy wants to go solo with Dawn, but just yanking her out of the group would've looked bad. So...he started dismantling the group, beginning with the easiest targets, Aubrey and D. Woods. Shannon and Aundrea probably wouldn't (won't) stick around once all the crap started to hit the fan, and once Danity Kane the group is dead, Diddy can launch Dawn's career. Okay, maybe that's a little conspiracy heavy, but I don't put it past anyone in the fame industry to do something sneaky to achieve a higher goal.

I would completely agree with you. I think that Diddy knew that taking out Aubrey will kill the group, I think that was his plan.

I don't see why he would want Dawn to go solo...I don't think she has the potential to make it without a group backing her. It's not that I don't dislike her, I just don't see a lot of people falling all over thierselves to get her CD, or to see her in concert. (I really want to say something mean (but funny) here, but I won't...I will just think it, LOL)

lol... I agree, like I would rather buy a DK CD than any one of their solo CD's.

I think that if Diddy thought Dawn had that possibility to be Solo, he would have done it from the beginning. Kinda like what he did with Donnie, he saw potential in that kid from the beginning. IDK maybe she grew on him, or her talent developed. She seems to be business savvy in always worrying about the brand.

I think in the beginning he was very focused on the making the group. Remember, Aubrey was his pet then. Then Aubrey started getting a little wild with her image, and Diddy's mind started thinking three steps ahead. He looked at the other members. D. Woods has always had other projects before, during, and now after Danity Kane and she wasn't fully committed. Aundrea and Shannon don't quite have the charisma to be a superstar their own. That left Dawn. Diddy probably always had the intention to take one girl from the group and make her a solo star. He knew a tv-made group wouldn't last forever, and he was using it as a springboard for his solo star. It was supposed to be Aubrey, but she screwed it up, and now he's determined to make it happen with Dawn.

Honestly, Dawn has a unique voice, but I think Aundrea really would have a better solo career.
