Behind the Screen: Major League Baseball: 2014

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I created a new thread as it's all about 2014 now and there is no better way to start things off than a post about A-Roid. ;) In other big news:Detroit Tigers agree to trade Prince Fielder to Texas R...

Good trade for both sides. Texas gets the power hitter they needed and clear 2nd base for Profar. Detroit gets rid of a horrible salary, a 2nd basemen which they needed, and can move Cabrera from 3rd to 1st and help their league worst defense.

I agree it is a good trade for both. The Tigers move the long term liability of Fielder at the cost of his bat to protect Cabrera while offering Cabrera haven at 1st and DH while adding a great 2nd baseman. Texas gets punch right now, saying they are in it to win it and have a DH slot open for him for the contract.

Jacoby Ellsbury, New York Yankees agree on contract Thank God the Sox didn't get stuck in that anchor of a contract. I love Jacoby and what he has done for Boston, but that's ridiculous money with his health record. On the upside, it is the Yankees taking it on. They are in desperation mode and are attempting to buy another championship. It's money well spent in that vain, but a long term disaster.

I don't get why you would give someone such a big contract who relies on their speed, is over 30, and has a history of injuries. Give him a big 3-4 year contract, but 7 years is absolutely ridiculous. Do the Yankees not realize that he is just a Carl Crawford doppelganger, if Carl Crawford had more of an injury history?
