and the U.S. were the favourite to win yet they barely clutched a spot in the gold medal game :P Go Canada! Way to put up a great fight!! :D But I must say... still pissed that US got that penalty kick for Canada's goalie stepping out of bounds (when she clearly didn't)... but not much you can do now. That ref sucked ***.

It wasn't for stepping out of bounds on the kick. It was for holding on the ball for more than 6 seconds. But yes, the ref was terrible. Most of the refs thus far have been. Hoping the Swedish ref, Jenny Palmqvist, has the gold medal game. She did a great job during the WWC.

6 seconds? Wow that's probably a rare call because I didn't know that haha...but then again that stupid second call for the ball hitting the girl's hand on accident after it hit her elbow... like seriously? Ugh. All well, U.S. put up a great game, and that last goal by 13 was great.

It is a rare call, but well-known (especially by goalies). They can't have the ball in their hands for more than six seconds or else the other team gets an indirect kick from where the goalie had the ball. Next time you watch a game, keep a count on how long the goalies keep hold of the ball. If they're not in a rush, it's generally 5-6 seconds. As for the hand ball...it was a good call. She brought her hands up. If she hadn't and kept them by her sides, the penalty would have been a lot harder to call. I was waiting for Alex Morgan to come through. And Rapinoe!! That second goal was an absolute rocket.

Saw this floating on the Internet: "One time Regina George beat me in the Olympics. It was awesome" and/or "Raise your hand if your country has been personally victimized by Regina George."

It really is a rare call and you're one of the few who aren't aggressive about the situation :D So props for that. Although I can't refrain from stating not all calls were made for both sides. Lloyd was on the floor and her head got stepped on, so many things that happened, so all in all I feel some calls weren't made and some were. Good job to Canada though they had me sweating bullets.

It's interesting how interest in the Olympics has trailed off somewhat around here. For me personally, it is a combination of two big ticket items being done (swimming; gymnastics) as well as the fact that I can't watch most of the good stuff that is left - live. That said, I do plan to watch soccer and water polo today.

I haven't lost interest, still watching but you're right nothing big left except track, soccer, volleyball (let's go ****** haha), & basketball. Also it gets a little tiring watching & postibg after a few days. Either way, we are ahead of medal counts, and just 1 gold medal away from China!

Good first half from the US, but that was a clear hand ball and should have been a PK for Japan.

I'm happy now. May/Walsh won their gold and the USWNT won theirs. I can continue with my life now =P

Of course I am pulling for Team USA Basketball, but that doesn't mean I have to like Lebron's cheap lean in "please give me a foul as I don't want to shoot the ball" move. It's so obvious and such bad acting, it makes me cringe. He needs acting lessons. Maybe he can hang out with the soccer players during closing ceremonies and pick up some pointers p.s. Spain up by 1.

Basketball gold!

Team USA was too good in crunch time, especially Chris Paul and LeBron (Durant was killing it until Spain ran a Box and 1). Pau Gasol was also really good. Marc Gasol being in foul trouble also hurt Spain a ton.

So happy USA won another Gold! We're leaving these Olympics with most medals, and most Gold medals, beating China!! Thank God!!
