Behind the Screen: Lifetime Movie Network: Why Women are Sad

The reality TV landscape has never been more crowded or more diverse. From dating shows to competition series to docusoaps, networks and streamers are betting big on unscripted content.

What sets the great shows apart is their ability to create genuine moments — the kind of unscripted drama that no writer's room could manufacture. That's what keeps fans coming back.

Ah, it's not all that bad. Well, yes it is, but still it can be pure entertainment if you take advantage of it...

Lifetime movies do always seem to have the same general theme but to each her own I guess right...

Lifetime Movie Network: Why Women are Sad

I was just browsing through the channel lineup and LMN caught my eye. Do women really watch this stuff? Yikes. User image Just a sampling of the upcoming programs today: The Patron Saint of Liars, Living with the Enemy, Unfaithful, Her Best Friend's Husband, Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye, The Lady Killer, Personal Indiscretions, Lethal Vows. Talk about depressing! LMN must be sponsored by Ben & Jerry's!

For some reason that reminds me of those alarm commercials, especially the one where the guy drop kicks the door basically and then the alarm saves the day...it made me lol

When my little sister was going through a depressed stage, she would sit up in her room and watch them all day in bed with ice cream. No lie. They have some good movies but they are depressing.

You all joke about this...but I am at my mom's house for a week- this is the LONGEST I have been here in one run since leaving for college. My mom has asked me to watch a movie on this channel every night so far. I am throwing a bachelorette party tomorrow night for my friend, and she wants the girls to all stay in and watch LMN.

the other sad part is that most of thier movies are based on someones true life experience. My mom used to watch nothing but LT and LMN...no wonder she was always so depressed. (now I wouldn't be suprised if they end up contacting her to do a movie on her own life story, LOL)

Whew, I am so glad to be HOME and I escaped my mom's house with only 1 movie actually watched from the channel. She got in a couple of the hallmark movies though.

This is a vevmo public service announcement for current and future single men in the 30+ demographic --- The Lifetime audience is heavily weighted toward "never married/ wish I weren't/ separated/ divorced" women in the 28 + demographics. Those who go out tend to go to clubs/bars with their girlfriends. Your rate of success in approaching Lifetime viewers in clubs will markedly improve if you have studied the movies that play opposite NFL football games. Knowing the movies, actors and plot lines and having the ability to have "empathy" for the characters will definitely increase your "joy." Don't forget the standard tactics -- you love long walks in the park with your dog (which you miss 'cause he died), admit to occasionally reading a romance novel because you wondered what they were all about, and you'd love to have children someday. Add that your ex GF cheated on you and you haven't really gotten over it, and you are in! (assuming, of course, that you are not a jerk.) Background on all Lifetime's movies can be found at The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) Happy Hunting!

I actually did watch LMN a few weeks back. I'll come clean right now and release the guilt. Anyone else see that Heather Locklear movie Flirting with Forty? It was cute and I'm all about hot older women... My Alibi: This is how it went down - I saw the movie Prime was showing and I love Uma so I didn't notice the channel it was airing on. Then this other movie came on and I just sort of watched it because the remote was on the table 8 feet away...

uuummmm yeah...I think that was best left unsaid oh fearless one...you are about to get hell from some posters :) (I on the otherhand completely understand because I often find myself unable to reach the remote and totally unwilling to move to get it. I can pick it up with my feet if it is close enough but any farther and I am just stuck watching what is on, LOL)
